Short answer: the commonly reported base chances for a cursed-technique summon are Grade 3 72%, Grade 2 25%, Grade 1 2.5% and Special Grade 0.5%. Those figures come from community tables rather than a complete official rate sheet, so treat them as a guide and check the live banner after every major update. Older documentation lists pity at 30 summons for Grade 1 and 175 for Special Grade. Weekend luck, Lucky and Ultra Lucky can improve results, but their exact adjusted percentages are not published.
Jujutsu: Zero uses rotating gacha banners. Three banners are described as rotating hourly from a pool containing every technique, while Lumens and cursed techniques are core progression systems. Awakened banners can use different currencies, pools and pity rules, so never assume the standard rates apply to them.
How cursed-technique summons work
Cursed techniques are obtained through rotating summon banners rather than a permanent, single-rate list. The Studio Resonance library describes three banners rotating every hour and drawing from a pool that contains every technique. That means the banner timer, the pool shown on screen and any featured or awakened label matter before you spend currency.
The Roblox listing frames Lumens and cursed techniques as central progression systems, describing the objective as: “Roam the vast world of jujutsu, discover valuable cursed objects and hone your cursed techniques to the top.” In practice, a summon decision has two separate questions: which rarity can drop, and which techniques are inside that banner’s pool.

- Standard rotating banners: the hourly rotation described by Studio Resonance. The broad pool is reported to contain every technique, but confirm the current pool in the live banner panel.
- Featured banners: a banner may highlight a technique or group. A highlight does not, by itself, establish a new percentage; use the rates and pity text displayed for that banner.
- Awakened banners: these can have separate currency, pools and pity. The documented Awakened Limitless banner, for example, costs 150 Cursed Crystal per pull and has unique pity.
Because banners rotate and patches can change their rules, record the banner name, timer, currency cost and pity counter before pulling. A rate quoted for a standard banner should not be copied onto an awakened banner.
Rarity ladder: grades and the newer tier language
Older guides describe cursed techniques with the familiar Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1 and Special Grade ladder. The Studio Resonance library also describes a broader current system using rarity tiers 2 through 6. The available references do not publish a definitive one-to-one conversion between those two naming systems, so do not assume that “tier 6” automatically means a specific grade unless the current game interface says so.
| Label used in older references | What is established |
|---|---|
| Grade 3 | Lowest entry on the four-grade table; community-reported base chance is 72%. |
| Grade 2 | Community-reported base chance is 25%. |
| Grade 1 | Community-reported base chance is 2.5%; older pity documentation uses 30 summons. |
| Special Grade | Community-reported base chance is 0.5%; older pity documentation uses 175 summons. |
Rarity is not a complete power ranking. The available sources do not establish that a rarer technique always performs better in every combat situation. Compare moves, traits, scaling and your build separately instead of treating the rarity label as a guaranteed tier list.

Community-reported base drop rates
The following four-number table is the clearest published guide currently available, but it is not an official, permanent guarantee. An independent community table reports all four values, while a separate Fandom table independently lists normal Special Grade at 0.5% and leaves several other cells unknown. The official Roblox listing does not publish a complete probability sheet.
| Rarity | Community-reported base chance | Confidence and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 3 | 72% | Medium confidence; independent guide, not a first-party rate sheet. |
| Grade 2 | 25% | Medium confidence; independent guide, not a first-party rate sheet. |
| Grade 1 | 2.5% | Medium confidence; independent guide, not a first-party rate sheet. |
| Special Grade | 0.5% | Medium confidence; appears in both the independent guide and the Fandom table. |
The percentages sum to 100%, which makes them useful as a working base-rate model. They should not be presented as an everlasting official schedule: a patch, a featured pool, a gamepass or a weekend event can change the result, and some current tables do not disclose every cell.

What a 0.5% Special Grade chance means
If pulls were independent and no pity or modifier applied, the chance of seeing at least one Special Grade in n pulls would be 1 - (1 - 0.005)^n. The examples below are mathematical illustrations of the reported 0.5% base rate, not a promise about a live banner.
| Pulls | Chance of at least one Special Grade under the base-rate model | Chance of none |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | About 4.9% | About 95.1% |
| 30 | About 14.0% | About 86.0% |
| 100 | About 39.4% | About 60.6% |
| 175 | About 58.4% | About 41.6% |
Without pity, a 0.5% geometric rate corresponds to 200 pulls on average, but “average” is not a guarantee: some players would succeed earlier and others later. The documented 175-pull Special Grade pity changes the tail of that distribution, so the simple independent-pull calculation must not be used as the live guarantee.
Pity thresholds and the cost illustration
Older documentation lists a guaranteed-rarity pity at 30 summons for Grade 1 and 175 summons for Special Grade. Pity Boost is described as halving the number of pulls needed for guaranteed-rarity pity. In other words, a documented threshold can be reduced by the boost, but you must verify how the current banner displays the counter and whether the boost is active.
| Guaranteed rarity threshold in older documentation | Pulls | Illustrative cost at 350 Lumens per single spin |
|---|---|---|
| Grade 1 | 30 | 10,500 Lumens |
| Special Grade | 175 | 61,250 Lumens |
The 350-Lumen single-spin price is from the same older community guide. Multiplying 30 or 175 by 350 gives the figures above; they are arithmetic illustrations, not proof that every current banner has the same price or pity. A pity described as “guaranteed rarity” should also not be read as a guarantee of one particular technique unless the banner explicitly says the target is selected or featured.
How Pity Boost changes planning
When Pity Boost is active and the “halve the pulls” description applies exactly, the older thresholds would become 15 pulls for Grade 1 and 87.5 pulls for Special Grade. Because a game cannot award half a summon, the live interface must determine whether it rounds up, rounds down or uses a different counter rule. Do not budget from 87.5; use the integer threshold shown in the banner.
Weekend luck, Lucky and Ultra Lucky
A community guide reports a 30% overall increase during the weekend-luck period. “Overall increase” does not establish whether every rarity is multiplied by 1.30, whether probability mass is redistributed through a separate table or whether the event affects only selected banners. Therefore, it is not safe to turn 0.5% into an asserted 0.65% Special Grade rate without a live rate display.

The Lucky and Ultra Lucky gamepasses are described as shifting results toward better rarity tables. Exact modified percentages are not published in the available references. Treat them as directional modifiers, not as a known numerical guarantee.
Rank #2
- Check whether the event badge is visible on the specific banner you intend to use.
- Read the banner’s rarity or pity panel after equipping a luck pass; do not assume the pass applies to awakened banners.
- Do not add a weekend bonus and a gamepass percentage together unless the game explicitly states that they stack and shows the resulting table.
- Keep screenshots or notes of the displayed rates and pity counter if you are budgeting a large number of pulls.
Awakened banners and the Limitless example
Awakened banners are the main reason a standard-rate answer can be wrong for a specific pull. The Awakened Limitless banner is documented at 150 Cursed Crystal per pull and uses unique pity. An update guide also says it entered other awakened-banner pools. Those details indicate a separate system rather than a reskin of the hourly standard banners.
Before using Cursed Crystal, verify four items in the awakened banner panel: the exact pool, the per-pull cost, the unique pity threshold and whether the banner is currently available or has moved into another awakened pool. None of the standard 72%/25%/2.5%/0.5% figures should be copied onto that banner unless the game displays them there.
A practical banner-checking procedure
- Open the live cursed-technique summon screen. Identify whether the banner is standard, featured or awakened; do not rely on a video or screenshot from an earlier patch.
- Read the rotation or availability timer. Standard banners are described as rotating hourly, so the pool can change before you spend.
- Record the currency and single-pull price. The older 350-Lumen figure is only an illustration, while the documented Awakened Limitless example uses 150 Cursed Crystal.
- Open the rate details. Capture each listed rarity, any featured-technique weighting and the date or patch label. If a cell is absent, mark it as unknown rather than filling it from another table.
- Check pity language. Note whether pity guarantees a rarity, a named technique or a choice, and whether the counter carries over when the banner rotates.
- Check modifiers. Confirm weekend luck, Lucky, Ultra Lucky and Pity Boost status on that banner. Apply only the values the game actually displays.
- Set a stopping point. Decide your maximum Lumens or Cursed Crystal spend before the first pull, then stop when the budget or target is reached.
How to compare two banners without misleading yourself
Use the same six axes for every comparison. Rarity alone is insufficient, especially when one banner has a unique pity or a different currency.
| Comparison axis | Question to answer |
|---|---|
| Rarity tier | Does the banner use Grade labels, tiers 2–6 or another current label? |
| Base versus modified odds | Are the displayed rates normal, weekend-adjusted or affected by a luck pass? |
| Pity | What threshold applies, what does it guarantee and is it unique to this banner? |
| Currency and cost | Does one pull use Lumens, Cursed Crystal or another currency, and what is the current price? |
| Banner type | Is it standard, featured or awakened, and which techniques are actually in the pool? |
| Patch and date | When was the displayed table last changed? Older guides may no longer match the interface. |
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Calling community rates official
The four-number table is useful, but no complete first-party probability sheet is supplied. Label it as community-reported and recheck the live panel after updates.
Assuming 30% weekend luck means 30% Special Grade
The reported bonus is an overall increase, not a published Special Grade multiplier. The adjusted rarity cells remain unknown unless the game shows them.
Quick Recap
Best Value
Rank #4
Treating pity as a named-technique guarantee
Older wording describes guaranteed rarity. A rarity guarantee can still award any technique in that banner’s eligible pool.
Using standard rates for awakened pulls
Awakened banners can use unique pity and different currency. The 150-Cursed-Crystal Awakened Limitless example demonstrates why the banner’s own panel must take precedence.

Ignoring the patch date
Hourly rotation, pool changes and new awakened pools can make an old screenshot inaccurate. Record the current banner details immediately before spending.
Bottom-line guidance for players
Use 72% Grade 3, 25% Grade 2, 2.5% Grade 1 and 0.5% Special Grade as a clearly labeled community baseline, not a permanent official promise. Plan around the documented 30-pull Grade 1 and 175-pull Special Grade thresholds only when the live banner shows the same rules. Treat weekend luck and Lucky or Ultra Lucky as positive but numerically unspecified modifiers, and evaluate every awakened banner independently. This approach keeps your budget, expectations and comparisons tied to the banner that is actually on screen.
