Do the JLab Epic Sport ANC 3 stay in during workouts?
The retention system is the main reason to consider these earbuds. Each bud has an over-ear hook, rather than relying only on friction inside the ear canal. JLab says the ergonomic hooks are intended to hold during workouts, and independent reviewers reported a secure fit during movement.

SoundGuys reviewer Adam Birney tested a company-supplied pair for five days on firmware 2.9.8; he reported that the hooks held during jogging, biking and jumping. Tom’s Guide likewise described a secure fit during long runs and jumping strength exercises. These are reviewers’ experiences, not a fit guarantee. Ear shapes vary, and the right tip size matters for both comfort and the in-ear seal. How to get a stable fit
Try the included gel tips in different sizes and make sure each tip seals comfortably before a workout. A hook can help keep a bud from falling away, but it cannot fix a tip that feels uncomfortable or does not seal in your ear. The box includes three sets of gel tips, according to JLab’s product listing.

Are they suitable for sweat and rain?
JLab advertises an IP66 rating and describes the earbuds as protected against sweat and dirt. SoundGuys considers them suitable for sweat and light rain. That is useful protection for exercise, but it is not a claim that the earbuds can be submerged. (JLab feature page; SoundGuys review)
How good is the noise cancellation?
The ANC 3 offers ANC On, ANC Off and Be Aware modes. Having ANC is not the same as having strong ANC: Tom’s Guide found the noise cancellation weak. If quiet on a commute or in a noisy gym is a priority, treat ANC as an extra rather than the main selling point. What are the sound, controls and connectivity like?
JLab lists a 10 mm dynamic driver paired with a Knowles balanced-armature driver. SoundGuys describes the tuning as bass-forward, which may suit workout playlists but is a reviewer’s characterization, not a guarantee that every listener will like it. JLab’s own pages disagree about total battery life with the charging case: its feature page says 52+ hours, while the product listing says 68+ hours. Both claim 12+ hours per earbud, but give different case contributions. The conflict is unresolved, so neither larger total should be treated as an independently verified runtime. At roughly that current listed price, the case for buying is strongest if you specifically want an earhook design, app controls and ANC in one workout-focused set. It is less compelling if your priority is effective noise cancellation or clear outdoor calls.
