TechCrunch reports that JioHotstar content will appear in a dedicated section of Starzplay’s app and website, with two monthly package prices reported at launch: AED 34.99 and AED 49.99.
How the Starzplay partnership works
Under the reported arrangement, Starzplay serves as the distribution platform: viewers access a dedicated JioHotstar destination inside Starzplay’s app or website. That differs from JioHotstar’s reported standalone launches in the U.K., Canada and Singapore. TechCrunch reported the MENA expansion on October 6, 2026; The Economic Times also reported the regional launch.

The reports describe the content and package structure, but do not establish a country-by-country launch list, supported devices, streaming resolution, simultaneous-stream limits or live checkout availability. Those details may vary by market and should be checked in Starzplay’s current local offer.
What JioHotstar content is reported to be included
The reported selection includes Indian films, television shows, originals and reality formats. Languages named include Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla, among others. Examples cited include Bigg Boss and Koffee with Karan.

- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
TechCrunch says new JioHotstar originals are expected to premiere in MENA at the same time as in India, with audio available in up to 10 languages. It also notes a particular emphasis on Malayalam programming, reflecting the region’s Malayali audience. These are reported plans; a complete title list and country-level language availability were not specified.
Reported package prices and sports access
TechCrunch reported the following monthly prices at launch on October 6, 2026; The Economic Times corroborated both AED price points. These are reported launch prices, not independently verified current checkout prices.

| Reported option | Monthly price | What the reports say |
|---|---|---|
| Starzplay Plus | AED 34.99 | Includes the JioHotstar content offering in Starzplay. |
| JioHotstar with Starzplay sports | AED 49.99 | Bundles the JioHotstar offering with Starzplay sports, including cricket. |
The sports distinction is important: TechCrunch says JioHotstar’s own India sports offering will not be available in MENA. Cricket in the higher-priced package refers to Starzplay’s sports offering, not access to JioHotstar’s India sports catalog. The partnership gives JioHotstar access to Starzplay’s established regional platform instead of requiring viewers to sign up for a separate JioHotstar service. The reporting frames the target audience around MENA’s South Asian diaspora and the appeal of entertainment across Indian languages, including Malayalam.
