The Chargers fell to the Seahawks 30-23 in Week 4 of the 2026 season, dropping to 0-4. In his postgame press conference, head coach Jim Harbaugh emphasized the team’s fight, defended offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel, and pushed back on a question about the hits and sacks Justin Herbert has taken. The official video is available on the Chargers website.
What Harbaugh said after the Seahawks game
Harbaugh described the Chargers’ effort as a positive amid the defeat. As quoted by ClutchPoints, he said, “The fight … what you want to see in a win and there’s times you find it in a loss. It was a good fight.” He also said the team would “keep fighting, keep growing.” These quotations were relayed in ClutchPoints’ account of the press conference; consult the report alongside the official video.

Why the loss put the Chargers at 0-4
Seattle won 30-23, leaving Los Angeles winless through four games. ClutchPoints reported that this was the Chargers’ first 0-4 start since 2017. Its account also cited a difficult first half for Herbert and the offense: Herbert completed 5 of 14 passes for 36 yards, while the Chargers produced six points and 92 yards and converted one of seven third downs.

The same report counted 30 accepted penalties for 280 yards between the teams, including 16 accepted penalties against Los Angeles. These figures are reported by ClutchPoints, not statistics specific to the press conference.

Harbaugh’s response to questions about Mike McDaniel
McDaniel’s job security was a prominent subject after the defeat. Harbaugh defended the offensive coordinator, according to ClutchPoints and Heavy. Heavy characterized Harbaugh’s response to the job-security question as awkward; that is the outlet’s description, not a direct quote from Harbaugh. In a separate postgame comment relayed by ClutchPoints, Herbert said he wanted to make McDaniel proud and that “we’ve just go to go make plays.”
His exchange about hits and sacks on Herbert
Harbaugh pushed back when a reporter asked about the hits and sacks Herbert had absorbed. Time News reported that Harbaugh called the question an insult; its headline and account frame the exchange that way. The available reporting does not provide a verified full transcript, so the characterization should not be read as a verbatim quotation beyond what the outlet reports.

Injury updates and the next game
In the official Chargers postgame video listing, Harbaugh was described as saying the team was still evaluating injuries, including those involving Rashawn Slater, Joe Alt and Derwin James. The listing does not establish final diagnoses or timetables. The Chargers’ next game was scheduled for Week 5 against the Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium, according to ClutchPoints.
Where to watch the press conference
The Chargers’ official page hosts the video titled “Head Coach Jim Harbaugh Postgame Press Conference vs. Seahawks.” A separate team YouTube upload pairs Harbaugh with Herbert in a joint postgame press conference. For the coach-only official page, use the Chargers video; for the joint coach-and-quarterback version, see the Chargers YouTube upload. The official team recap and outside accounts provide different lenses: the team presents its own game takeaways, while ClutchPoints, Heavy and Time News emphasize the record, coordinator questions and Herbert exchange.
