JBL specifies up to 12 hours of playback, but that is a maximum rather than a guarantee for a real session; at 11.05 kg (24.4 lb), this is also a substantial speaker to move.
What kind of speaker is the PartyBox Club 120?
It is a portable party speaker designed around high output, bass, lighting, and wired performance inputs—not a lightweight speaker for effortless everyday transport. JBL lists a 160 W output, a 3.5 mm audio input, microphone and guitar inputs, a karaoke function, and a lightshow. Those are manufacturer-published specifications and features, not independent measurements. JBL’s product page has the current official feature listing.

Its published dimensions are 28.8 × 57 × 29.7 cm (11.4 × 22.4 × 11.7 in), and its weight is 11.05 kg (24.4 lb). That heft is worth considering if you expect to carry it regularly: RTINGS describes the speaker as cumbersome to carry despite its handles. RTINGS’ review, by Dagobiet Morales Alfaro, Christopher Steward, and Yannick Khong, was reviewed June 7, 2024, and its writing was modified September 25, 2026.

How does it sound?
RTINGS describes the Club 120 as bass-heavy, a character that suits house and hip-hop, while its relatively balanced mid-range helps vocals and lead instruments remain clear. It can play stereo content without downmixing it to mono, but its forward-facing design means the sound is not consistent from every angle. Place it with the audience in front of the speaker rather than expecting the same presentation all around a room.

RTINGS also reports that it gets impressively loud, but compression at maximum volume can reduce the punch of drum hits. In practical terms, turning it all the way up may increase loudness without preserving the same impact in the music. These are findings from RTINGS’ review and testing methodology, not a claim that every room, placement, or track will sound the same.
How portable is it?
The handles help with moving the unit, but they do not make 11.05 kg (24.4 lb) a light carry. RTINGS likewise lists cumbersome carrying as a drawback. It makes more sense for a speaker that will be set up at a party or gathering than for frequent trips where carrying comfort is a priority.
For buyers comparing it with a smaller portable speaker, the key trade-off is party-oriented output and wired inputs against easier transport. The evidence here does not establish a direct performance comparison with a particular smaller model.

What should you expect from the battery?
JBL rates playback at up to 12 hours and lists a 3.5-hour charging time. The 12-hour figure is a manufacturer-stated maximum, not a guaranteed runtime at any particular volume or lightshow setting. JBL’s specification sheet identifies the battery as a 34 Wh lithium-polymer JBL BATTERY200. JBL’s specification sheet provides the battery detail.
The battery is replaceable: JBL lists BATTERY200 as a compatible spare for this speaker. That gives owners a way to extend use when a compatible spare is available, though it does not change the runtime of the installed battery. RTINGS reports shorter continuous battery life for the Club 120 than for the PartyBox 110; its comparison does not establish a universal runtime for every listening setup.
Can you use it for karaoke or instruments?
JBL lists dual microphone inputs, a guitar input, and a karaoke function. Those connections make the Club 120 more flexible for singing or playing along than a speaker that relies only on wireless playback. A microphone is a separate accessory category; the specifications cited here do not validate any particular microphone model.

What wireless connections does it support?
JBL lists Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint connection, and Auracast support. It says two PartyBox Club 120 speakers can be stereo-paired, and multiple Auracast-enabled speakers can be connected through the JBL PartyBox app. Pairing or broadcasting to other speakers depends on those speakers supporting the relevant connection feature; the Club 120’s support alone does not make an incompatible speaker part of the setup.

JBL rates it IPX4 and describes it as splashproof. That is splash resistance, not waterproofing: the rating does not mean the speaker can be submerged.

The comparison points toward the Club 120 if its stronger default bass and listed connections suit your priorities; the 110 may be worth considering if continuous battery life is more important. The cited evidence does not establish a current-price or overall-value winner.
Verdict: who should buy it?
Choose the JBL PartyBox Club 120 if you want a bass-forward party speaker with a lightshow, microphone and guitar inputs, and the option of a replaceable battery—and you can accommodate its size and weight. Look elsewhere if frequent carrying is central to how you will use a portable speaker. Treat JBL’s up-to-12-hour rating as a ceiling rather than a session promise, and account for RTINGS’ finding that bass impact can soften at maximum volume.
