Its 17.1 kg weight and directional sound are meaningful trade-offs; its IPX4 rating means splash resistance, not waterproofing.
What the JBL PartyBox 330 offers
JBL lists 280 W of output, two 6.5-inch woofers and two 25 mm PEN dome tweeters. The feature set includes a beat-synchronized lightshow, Bluetooth 6.0, Auracast, optical and USB-C audio, an auxiliary input, and microphone and guitar inputs. JBL also lists AI Sound Boost, Smart EQ and control through the JBL One app. Check the product listing and package for your region for exact included cables and accessories.

Its official dimensions are 334 × 662.5 × 375 mm (13.15 × 26.08 × 14.76 in), and its net weight is 17.1 kg (37.7 lb). A locking telescopic handle and wheels make it practical to roll between locations, but it is still a heavy speaker to lift. Frandroid reports that the wheels handle grass but that sand is harder to cross; it recommends two people for carrying. JBL product specifications · Frandroid’s hands-on review
How does the PartyBox 330 sound?
Independent reviews agree that the speaker can play loudly and deliver substantial bass, but they describe its tonal balance and coverage in different ways. RTINGS says it has enough low bass for kick drums and clear vocals and lead instruments, while cymbals can sound slightly harsh. It also notes that sound becomes more muffled from the sides. The whole crowd will feel it—not just the front row.

Les Numériques describes deep, controlled bass, transparent mids, clear vocals and treble that slopes down slightly. In its test, it measured more than 95 dB at 1 m / 1 kHz and reported no bass loss or distortion in that test. It also characterizes the speaker as strongly directional and flags excess bass as a possible drawback. These are that outlet’s observations and measurement, not a guarantee for every room, track or listening level. Les Numériques’ test
In practice, aim the front of the cabinet toward the audience. It is a better fit when listeners are mostly in front of the speaker than when a group is spread evenly around it.
How long does the battery last?
The PartyBox 330 uses JBL Battery 400, a 68 Wh lithium-ion battery. JBL rates playback at up to 18 hours, with actual runtime varying by volume and audio content; the listed charging time is three hours with the speaker off. JBL also advertises a ten-minute fast charge for two additional hours of playback. Treat these as manufacturer claims, not guaranteed results for a particular event. Les Numériques measured 18 hours 30 minutes at 50% volume with the lights and Playtime Boost off. In a separate test at 79 dB at 1 kHz / 1 m, it recorded 33 hours. The latter is a lower-output test condition and is not directly comparable to the 50% volume result without matching methodology. Neither figure promises how long a specific playlist, volume and lighting setup will run. Les Numériques’ test
Is the PartyBox 330 waterproof?
No. Its IPX4 rating indicates splash resistance; it is not an immersion rating and does not establish dust protection. Keep it away from standing water, submersion and sustained rain. Les Numériques also describes its rain protection as limited. JBL specification sheet · Les Numériques’ test
Inputs, karaoke and speaker linking
The microphone and guitar inputs let you connect those sources directly; their presence does not mean a microphone or guitar is included. JBL lists EasySing Mics compatibility, but check the exact package contents and cable requirements before buying. The quick-start guide identifies some cables and accessories as not included. How it compares with the Stage 320 and PartyBox 130
The most useful comparison is not just rated output: consider the size of the event, carrying route, listening layout, battery plans and the gear you need to connect. The available like-for-like figures below come from Frandroid’s comparison; they are listed product figures, not a new independent measurement.
| Comparison point | PartyBox 330 | PartyBox Stage 320 |
|---|---|---|
| Listed output | 280 W RMS | 240 W RMS |
| Rated battery capacity | 68 Wh | 68 Wh |
| Manufacturer-rated playback | Up to 18 hours | 18 hours |
Frandroid’s comparison lists those figures for both models and reports improved bass retention at high volume in its measurements of the PartyBox 330. That is one outlet’s test conclusion, not a promise for every room or track. Compare current local prices and the features you will use, rather than treating the output figures alone as a reason to choose one. Frandroid’s comparison and review

- Powerful JBL Pro Sound: Two 6.5" woofers that deliver clean, precise, deep bass even at top volume and a pair of 25mm dome tweeters that produce crystal clear highs. Loud enough to fill a space the size of a tennis court with music.
- Futuristic lightshow: Take all that sound and add a thrilling lightshow featuring starry lights, cool light trails, and strobe light effects—all synced to your beat.
- Up to 18 hours of play time: Party from dusk till dawn with up to 18 hours on a single charge. Not enough? Swap out the replaceable battery and keep on dancing. 10 min fast charge gets you an extra 2 hours of playtime.Replaceable battery sold separately
- Telescopic handle and wide, sturdy wheels: Roll up to the party with wide, sturdy wheels and an easy-to-grip handle that telescopes up when you need it and down when you don't.
- Splash proof: Whether you're partying with friends in the park or by the seaside, the JBL PartyBox Stage 320 is IPX4 splashproof, means a little rain won't stop the fun.
The smaller PartyBox 130 is worth considering for smaller rooms or easier handling. Les Numériques specifically contrasts it with the 330 for larger-room use, while noting that the 330’s highs sound less sharp. The available evidence here does not establish a comparable set of 130 specifications or test figures, so check its current specifications and price before deciding. Les Numériques’ test
Who should buy the JBL PartyBox 330?
- Consider it if you need high output for larger gatherings, want battery-powered playback and built-in lights, or will use the microphone or guitar inputs.
- Plan around its size if you need to move it often. Wheels help on a suitable route, but stairs, sand, vehicle loading and long carries still involve a heavy cabinet.
- Look at a smaller option if you mainly play in small rooms, need easy carrying or want listeners to hear similar sound from around the speaker.
- Check the local details before purchase: price and package contents can vary by market, and JBL’s U.S. listing price is not a reliable guide to current pricing elsewhere.
The PartyBox 330 makes the most sense when its output, rolling transport and live-input features solve a real need. Its weight, directional presentation and limited weather protection matter more if portability means frequent lifting, the audience surrounds the speaker or the event is exposed to rain.
