Check the platform and format before purchasing
A Switch listing does not automatically mean a game is a Switch 2 release, and an eShop listing does not establish that a physical edition exists. Nintendo’s download-purchase guidance explains that Switch software can be bought as packaged software or as a download, and describes the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Store purchase routes. Its general explanation that packaged and download versions have the same content when both exist does not confirm that both formats are available for any particular game.

For Switch 2, Nintendo’s software catalog says downloads can be purchased through Nintendo eShop on the console or Nintendo Store on web and mobile. Switch 2 software is identified by a red header band in those storefronts; displayed prices are tax-inclusive eShop prices.
