The Jade Audio Level 1 is a compact desktop stereo amplifier. With the 48 V/5 A adapter in the box, the manufacturer rates it at least 120 W per channel into 4 ohms and at least 115 W per channel into 8 ohms, both at THD+N below 1%. The headline 300 W-per-channel figure requires an optional power supply and a much looser distortion limit, so it is not the output you get out of the box. For a desk or a small room with passive speakers, the stock ratings are the ones to plan around.
What the Level 1 is, and why the label differs
Jade Audio’s Japan product page calls the LEVEL 1 a desktop power amplifier built around Texas Instruments’ TPA3255 amplifier chip. HomeTheaterHifi, in its September 23, 2026 review, describes it as a compact Class D integrated amplifier. The two labels describe the same box. The more useful question is what it accepts and what it drives: it takes analog and digital sources, has tone controls and a preamp output, and drives passive speakers directly. That combination is what “integrated” means in practice, whatever the marketing term.

Physical design
According to Jade Audio’s Japan product page, the chassis is aluminum with solid-wood side panels: walnut on the black finish and maple on the silver finish. The listed approximate dimensions are 181 × 133 × 36 mm, excluding feet, and the listed weight is approximately 676 g. The box contains the unit, an AC power cable, the 48 V/5 A adapter, a warranty card, and a quick-start guide. The page describes the design as laptop-sized, which matches those dimensions.

| Network streaming (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) | Not listed; the input list contains Bluetooth and wired inputs only | Not stated |
The absence of Wi-Fi or Ethernet on the official input list matters for buyers who want network playback. If you need that, plan on a separate network streamer feeding one of the amplifier’s inputs. None of the sources tests a specific streamer with the Level 1, so pairing advice would be guesswork.
Power ratings: the conditions matter more than the headline
Output power for an amplifier means very little without a load impedance and a distortion limit. The Level 1 has two sets of ratings, and the official page ties each one to a specific power supply.

Stock configuration: included 48 V/5 A adapter
Jade Audio’s Japan product page specifies at least 120 W + 120 W into 4 ohms and at least 115 W + 115 W into 8 ohms, both at THD+N below 1%. These are the figures to use when judging whether the unit can drive your speakers as delivered. The 48 V/5 A adapter is rated 240 W at its output, which is a supply limit rather than a speaker-power claim; the amplifier’s stock ratings sit below it.

Optional supply: 53 V/12 A
The same manufacturer page specifies at least 300 W + 300 W into 4 ohms and at least 190 W + 190 W into 8 ohms with an optional 53 V/12 A input, but at THD+N below 10%. A 10% distortion limit is far looser than the 1% used for the stock ratings, so these numbers describe how hard the amplifier can be pushed before distortion becomes severe, not how it sounds at normal listening levels.

Review sources report cleaner optional-supply figures that the manufacturer’s page does not give. HomeTheaterHifi lists 240 W + 240 W into 4 ohms and 135 W + 135 W into 8 ohms at THD+N below 1%, and describes those as the cleaner output with the optional supply. Informed Listening discusses the same below-1% figures alongside the manufacturer’s higher-distortion maximums. These are review-source figures, not manufacturer specifications.

Tone controls and app EQ
Bass and treble controls are the most direct way to adjust sound on the unit, according to HomeTheaterHifi. Informed Listening describes app-based parametric EQ that applies to digital inputs, and Headfonics mentions parametric EQ through the FiiO Control app. These app features are not detailed in the manufacturer’s specification table, so treat the exact app behaviour, supported digital formats, and whether EQ applies to analog input as the reviewers’ descriptions rather than confirmed specifications.

Perfect design in size and function, suitable for many scenarios to increase the output level, such as home stereo system, mixer or speaker setup, karaoke, audio recording, party, live stage event etc.
Where the reviews disagree: PFFB
HomeTheaterHifi lists PFFB among the Level 1’s described features in its September 23, 2026 review. Informed Listening’s May 25, 2026 review says “No PFFB” in its limitations summary. The manufacturer’s Japan product page does not settle the question. Until Jade Audio or an independent source documents the feature, treat PFFB as unresolved rather than as a confirmed part of the design.
Evidence limits
- Independent measurements: Informed Listening states that Audio Precision measurements were not yet available when it published its review. The sources reviewed here do not supply independent measured results for power, distortion or frequency response.
- Listening impressions: Informed Listening reports spending more than a week listening to a review sample supplied by Jade Audio. Headfonics says its review sample was received in exchange for an honest opinion. Any listening judgments in this article belong to those reviewers, not to the author.
- Controlled comparisons: The sources do not include a matched, controlled comparison against competing amplifiers or speakers, so claims about the Level 1 relative to alternatives cannot be made from this evidence.
- Long-term reliability: No durability or long-term reliability data were available in the sources.
Price and availability
Three reviews list the same price. HomeTheaterHifi gives an MSRP of $139.99 in its September 23, 2026 review. Informed Listening gives $139.99 as the price at its May 25, 2026 review. Headfonics gives $139.99 in its June 20, 2026 review. These are dated editorial references. The sources do not confirm a current retailer listing, seller, regional warranty, or stock status, and they do not establish the price of the optional power supply.
How to compare it with alternatives
Because the evidence does not include a controlled comparison, use the following checklist when setting the Level 1 beside another amplifier. Compare each item on the same terms:
- Output at the same load and the same distortion limit. A 300 W rating at 10% THD+N cannot be compared with a 120 W rating at 1%.
- Power supply: whether the supply is included, its cost, and whether the rating you are comparing requires it.
- Inputs and codecs: analog, USB, coaxial and Bluetooth, and which Bluetooth codecs are supported.
- Tone and EQ: whether bass and treble controls exist, and whether app-based EQ is available.
- Footprint and outputs: size, and whether a subwoofer or preamp output is needed.
- Price on the day you buy, checked directly with the seller.
Who the Level 1 suits
The Level 1 makes sense for a desk or a small room where a compact stereo amplifier needs to drive passive bookshelf-style speakers. Its stock ratings are the right baseline for that use, and its Bluetooth LDAC and coaxial input cover common desktop sources.
- Check your speaker impedance. The stock ratings are given for 4 and 8 ohm loads. A speaker with a different rated impedance needs its own check against the ratings.
- Plan on the included adapter. The 120 W and 115 W stock figures are the realistic baseline. The 300 W headline depends on an optional supply and a 10% distortion limit.
- Do not expect built-in network streaming. The official input list shows Bluetooth and wired inputs only.
- Consider the subwoofer output if you plan to add a subwoofer, since the unit has a dedicated output for one.
- Look elsewhere if you need a verified, independently measured performance profile, or if you need a confirmed answer on PFFB before buying.
For readers who want a compact desktop amplifier with digital inputs, tone controls, and a documented stock rating, the Level 1 is a reasonable candidate on paper. Whether it sounds right with a particular pair of speakers is a question the available sources do not answer.
