No. A video shared by U.S. Representative Tim Burchett on December 29, 2025, falsely depicted Jack White telling Trump supporters, “Don’t even think about listening to my music, you fascists.” White said the comment was fabricated and that he never made it. The clip’s apparent visuals came from a different White speech, at The White Stripes’ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.
What did the AI video show?
The clip appeared to show White addressing an audience and saying, “Don’t even think about listening to my music, you fascists.” But AFP’s fact-check found the video was not authentic. Its audio was assessed by Hiya.com’s voice-cloning detection tool as “very likely AI-generated.” AFP’s fact-check also traced the apparent visuals to White’s remarks at The White Stripes’ November 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

White did not mention Trump, Trump supporters or fascism in that induction speech. The fabricated wording may sound familiar because it echoes a separate 2024 Instagram warning from White to the Trump campaign not to use The White Stripes’ music. Jack and Meg White sued Trump and his campaign over use of “Seven Nation Army” and later dropped the case. That earlier dispute does not make the circulating video or its attributed quote genuine.

On December 29, Burchett shared the clip on X and mocked White’s appearance, comparing him to the girl from The Addams Family. When a user pointed out the video was not real, Burchett replied, “You mean it’s not the girl from the Addams Family?” AFP reported that Burchett had more than 400,000 followers; that figure describes his follower count, not the number of people who viewed the post. Burchett later told The Independent, “Of course I know it’s AI. Apparently sarcasm is dead.” That is his explanation of his intent in sharing the clip; it does not change the fact-check finding that the video was fabricated. The Independent’s report
