Jabra announced Perform 55, a retail communications headset, alongside Perform Plus, a cloud platform for managing headset fleets across store locations. A five-bay charging base is a separate accessory for charging and organizing shared devices. In Jabra’s October 1, 2026 announcement, the headset and base were listed as available now, while Perform Plus was scheduled for Q4 2026 Early Access.
What are Jabra Perform Plus and Perform 55?
They are two parts of a retail communications setup, not two names for the same product. Perform 55 is the physical headset store associates use to contact colleagues, managers and information without leaving customers. Perform Plus is the cloud-based management layer for configuring and overseeing headset fleets across locations. The five-bay universal charging base is an optional physical accessory intended to keep shared headsets charged and organized between shifts.
Jabra’s announcement does not say a Perform Plus subscription is required to use a Perform 55. It also does not state Perform Plus subscription pricing or provide a detailed service availability commitment.
What does Perform Plus manage?
Jabra describes Perform Plus as a centralized platform for remotely deploying, configuring, securing, updating and monitoring headsets. Announced capabilities include firmware updates and rollback, compliance checks, performance reporting and analytics, role-based access, and audit trails. A mobile app is intended to support pairing and headset use; single sign-on (SSO) and APIs are listed for integration with existing IT workflows.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
At launch, the platform supports Perform 55. Jabra says support for additional Perform devices is planned, not that it is already available. Perform Plus was announced as an Early Access Version for Q4 2026, with core fleet-management capabilities expected at launch and expanded functionality planned afterward. Check Jabra for current release status before planning a deployment.
What is the Perform 55 used for, and what works with it?
Perform 55 is an over-the-head headset designed for retail staff who need to stay in contact while serving customers. Jabra highlights push-to-talk and voice-led workflows, and names Zebra Workcloud Sync, Zello and Zoom as compatible platforms. The announcement does not detail compatibility requirements or configurations for each service, so confirm those with Jabra and the relevant platform provider before buying.

What retailers should check before choosing it
- Workflow: Confirm that the headset’s push-to-talk or voice-led use fits how associates reach coworkers and managers, and verify the required setup for Workcloud Sync, Zello or Zoom.
- Shift pattern: Compare the stated talk-time and push-to-talk maximums with expected use, then decide whether shared charging bays would help with handovers.
- Store conditions: Consider the over-the-head fit and IP54 dust-and-spill rating against the work environment and the wearing preferences of staff.
- IT operations: Check whether Perform Plus’s announced controls—such as remote updates, rollback, role-based access, audit trails, SSO and APIs—match fleet-management and integration needs. Confirm Early Access status and supported features before committing.
- Procurement: Verify regional pricing and availability, and ask which headset models the charging base supports.
Jabra’s announcement frames the products against frontline communication and device-management challenges. It attributes figures of 88% of store associates reporting difficulty getting timely assistance or information and 90% saying the right technology helps them complete tasks faster to Zebra Technologies’ 18th Annual Global Shopper Study: Inside Retail: The Push for Progress (2025). It attributes 81% of frontline workers experiencing work-stopping device or app issues at least monthly, and nearly 60% experiencing them weekly or more often, to B2M Solutions’ 7th Annual State of Enterprise Mobility Report (February 2026). These are figures cited by Jabra from the named reports, not evidence that these products will produce a particular outcome.
The release also describes preliminary findings from upcoming Jabra research: 96% of retailers expect AI investment to increase, and 71% expect voice AI to be deployed at scale within two years. Jabra presented these as early findings, not as results from a published report in the announcement.
