Short answer: the iWALK LinkPod 5 is a compact, cable-free USB-C power bank designed for emergency phone charging rather than several full recharges. Its 5,500mAh cell, advertised 22.5W maximum output and built-in connector make it convenient for commuting and travel, but the attached design can be awkward with thick cases and its usable energy will be lower than 5,500mAh.
This review covers the USB-C LinkPod 5, not every product sold under the iWALK name. The specifications and prices below are manufacturer-published figures checked against iWALK listings on August 16, 2026. No review sample or independent laboratory test was available, so charging times, heat and delivered capacity are identified as claims or expected behavior rather than original measurements.

iWALK also sells a Lightning LinkPod 5, the smaller LinkPod 4, the dual-connector LinkPod Switch and larger cable-equipped models. Their capacities, connectors and output ratings differ, so a generic “iWALK portable charger” verdict can be misleading.
Photos: what matters in the design
The useful photographs for this charger are functional, not just product glamour shots. They should show the details that determine whether the plug-in format works for your phone.
That attached position is the product’s defining advantage and its main compromise. A bottom-mounted battery can stay with the phone in a pocket or small bag, but it may interfere with a case lip, make landscape gaming uncomfortable or put leverage on the phone’s USB-C port. Do not assume a phone listed as compatible will work through every wallet, rugged or port-covering case.

Compatibility: choose the connector before the capacity
USB-C phones
This version is intended for USB-C iPhones, including iPhone 15 and newer generations, and USB-C Android phones. The exact phone, case opening and connector clearance still matter. iWALK’s LinkPod 4 listing specifically names iPhone 15/16/17 models and selected Samsung devices; compatibility wording can change by listing and generation.

The separate LinkPod 5 Lightning variant is for older Lightning iPhones and accessories. It is not the correct built-in plug for a USB-C iPhone. Verify the connector in the listing title and product photographs before ordering: Lightning LinkPod 5 listing.
Case-fit check
- Test with the phone bare, then with its usual thin case.
- Check thick protective, wallet and port-flap cases separately.
- Never force the plug sideways if the case lip prevents full insertion.
- If the integrated plug cannot reach, use an external cable only if that model provides a suitable output port.
Charging speed: 22.5W is a ceiling, not a constant
iWALK advertises up to 22.5W and describes a 20W PD mode for fast-charging supported iPhones. Its listing claims approximately 0% to 50% in 30 minutes under suitable conditions. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent result. Actual input changes with the phone model, charging protocol, cable, battery percentage, temperature and whether the phone is being used.

Expect the highest power when the phone is relatively low, cool and idle. Charging normally tapers near 80% and full, so a headline wattage cannot predict the time to 100%. Navigation, video, gaming and hotspot use can reduce the net battery gain while charging.
How much battery will reach the phone?
5,500mAh describes the internal cell rating, not the energy delivered at the phone’s USB-C port. Voltage conversion, heat and the phone’s own charging losses reduce usable output. iWALK’s LinkPod Switch FAQ estimates roughly 30%–45% loss through cells and conversion circuitry; that is a manufacturer explanation, not a universal independent efficiency test.
In practical terms, the LinkPod 5 is best viewed as one substantial top-up. A small phone may approach a full charge, while a large Pro Max, Ultra or gaming phone may receive only a partial charge. Older independent testing of the 4,800mAh LinkPod measured materially less energy than its printed rating, reinforcing why phone-specific results matter: Techtest’s LinkPod test.

Display, recharging and pass-through behavior
The LinkPod 5 uses a percentage display, which is more informative than the LinkPod 4’s three-light estimate. The display should be photographed while the pack is full, charging, connected to a phone and nearly empty so readers can see how it behaves in use.
Recharge is through USB-C. Confirm whether the built-in plug accepts input on the exact revision; do not assume that feature from another iWALK model. The LinkPod 4 listing supports pass-through charging and says it prioritizes the connected phone before recharging itself, while also stating that it shuts down after 30 seconds without output. Those behaviors should be verified separately for the LinkPod 5 rather than generalized.

iWALK describes temperature control and multiple protection circuits on current models. Those are manufacturer claims, not proof of long-term reliability. A proper hands-on review would record surface temperature during fast charging, inspect plug flex and retention, and repeat capacity tests after several cycles.

- Use a certified USB-C cable and a suitable wall charger.
- Keep the lithium-ion pack dry and away from extreme heat or cold.
- Stop using it if the case is damaged, swollen or unusually hot.
- Follow airline rules for spare lithium batteries.
- iWALK advises recharging periodically; its LinkPod 4 guidance says at least once every four months.

When a conventional power bank is better
Choose a cable-connected 10,000mAh bank if you need several charges, want to keep the battery in a bag while using the phone, or charge a tablet, handheld console or camera. Choose a magnetic model when clean attachment and phone ergonomics matter more than universal compatibility. A wall charger and short cable remain the fastest, cheapest option wherever an outlet is available.
Price and buying checklist
The LinkPod 5 USB-C listing showed $25.99 on sale versus $39.99 regular on August 16, 2026. Retail prices are not permanent; identify the seller, date the price and distinguish a temporary sale from the listed price. Before checkout:
- Confirm USB-C versus Lightning.
- Check that your case leaves the port accessible.
- Compare the 5,500mAh plug-in format with a 10,000mAh cable bank if you need more than one top-up.
- Review current stock, returns and warranty terms on the exact product page.
- Do not treat a marketplace review or star rating as a controlled capacity test.
Verdict
Buy the iWALK LinkPod 5 USB-C if your priority is a small emergency battery that plugs directly into a compatible phone and you generally need one meaningful top-up. Its percentage display and claimed 20W-class charging make it more useful than a basic low-output backup, while the compact form avoids carrying a separate cable.
