ISI has not named the party behind the letter or disclosed a proposed price, and says it remains uncertain whether a transaction will be completed.
What has ISI announced?
In an announcement dated 30 September 2026, ISI said it had received a non-binding letter of intent regarding its 85% stake in Ahumados Domínguez. A letter of intent signals interest in a potential transaction; it is not a completed sale or, on the terms disclosed, a binding agreement to sell. ISI’s announcement says: “The Letter of Intent is non-binding, and it remains uncertain whether a transaction will ultimately be completed.”
Who submitted the letter, and what are the proposed terms?
ISI did not identify the sender or disclose a proposed price or other commercial terms. SeafoodSource also reported on 2 October 2026 that the party behind the letter had not been named. The available disclosures therefore do not establish who wants to acquire the stake or what the company might receive. SeafoodSource’s report covers the announcement.
What would need to happen before a sale could close?
ISI said a potential transaction would be subject to further negotiations and definitive transaction documents, as well as satisfactory due diligence. It would also require applicable bondholder and lender approvals, necessary authorizations, approval by ISI’s board and other customary conditions. ISI gave no expected closing date and said it would update the market on further developments under its disclosure obligations.

Why does ISI own the stake?
ISI completed its acquisition of an 85% interest in Ahumados Domínguez in September 2021, buying from the Mestanza family for EUR 12.44 million. Pedro Mestanza, then the company’s managing director, retained a 15% minority stake. At the time, ISI described the acquisition as a way to strengthen its presence in Spanish retail and use Ahumados Domínguez’s platform to sell Icelandic cod products. That was the rationale given for the 2021 acquisition, not evidence that a current sale has been agreed. ISI’s 2021 acquisition announcement describes the deal.
What do the historical financial figures show?
ISI’s 2021 announcement reported the following figures for Ahumados Domínguez in 2020. The profit measures were adjusted for one-off items.
