No official Nintendo announcement or product page for a game called Zelda: Winds of Time was identified in the available sources. That means the proposed Wind Waker prequel should be treated as unverified, not as a confirmed game. Coverage of Wind Waker fan reimagining exists, but it does not establish that Nintendo is developing or approving this project.
Is Zelda: Winds of Time a real, announced game?
The exact-title search returned no identifiable authoritative announcement, and the official-source search did not verify the title. The official Nintendo UK copyright index extract also did not establish its status. These findings do not prove that no announcement exists; they mean the sources checked do not support presenting Winds of Time as an official game.

The Wind Waker is an established subject of games coverage, and Nintendo Life’s 2021 archive includes both an editorial article about the game and an item describing an Unreal Engine reimagining. The latter is presented as a reimagining, not a Nintendo release or announcement. Fan-made work and editorial speculation can show interest in the series, but neither confirms a new official prequel. What would confirm a Wind Waker prequel?
A reliable confirmation would need to come directly from Nintendo—for example, an official announcement or product page identifying the game. Until then, there is no established evidence here for its canon or timeline placement, creator or publisher, platform, or status as an official release. The available sources also establish no competing editions or versions of Winds of Time to compare.

The phrase “Wind Waker prequel” is a compelling concept, but it is a premise rather than evidence that a game exists. Readers can discuss it as a wish-list idea or fan concept; it should not be reported as breaking Nintendo news without direct official confirmation. The Wind Waker is a relevant adjacent comparison, but the sources here do not verify a current retail listing or platform compatibility.
