Is a new Watch Dogs game in development?
Not according to remarks by Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot reported by VGC on October 6, 2026: a new Watch Dogs game is not currently in production. Guillemot also said the series was not expected to be assigned to a creative house for the moment. Ubisoft has not provided a release window for another entry.

Did Ubisoft confirm a Watch Dogs remake?
No. An interpreted transcript attributes this translated wording to Guillemot: “So it’s not expected to put it in a creative house for the moment before it’s potentially remade. And so it didn’t receive any priority compared to the other existing brands in the company, but it’s still a brand that we consider to be an important brand for the future.”

The phrase “before it’s potentially remade” is unclear. VGC cautions that it may be a translation issue and could refer more generally to the series being revived or assigned to a new team. It is not an announcement that a remake is planned, underway, or imminent.
What does Ubisoft’s statement mean for the franchise?
Guillemot’s remarks point to a gap between long-term value and current development activity: Ubisoft still considers Watch Dogs important, but it is not a near-term priority and has no new game in production, according to VGC’s report. The transcript also says the series uses a different engine from Anvil and Snowdrop. VGC identifies Watch Dogs: Legion, released in 2020, as the latest released game in the series. Nothing in the cited remarks establishes a successor, a remake, or a timetable for either.
