Is Torchlight: Infinite Free to Play? Current Costs and In-Game Purchase Prices

Yes. Torchlight: Infinite is free to download and play on Steam, and Apple lists the iPhone and iPad version as free with in-app purchases. You do not need to buy the game up front on either storefront. The free-to-play label does not mean the game has no paid options: both stores disclose optional in-game purchases.

The clearest published price snapshot is Apple’s US App Store listing checked on October 13, 2026. It shows digital purchases from $0.99 to $99.99, including a $4.99 Monthly Pass. Those are US iOS prices at that time, not a universal price list for Steam, Android, or other countries. The storefront information also does not establish whether every purchase is cosmetic, power-affecting, or necessary for progression.

What “free to play” means for Torchlight: Infinite

Steam labels Torchlight: Infinite “Free-to-play” and separately identifies in-game purchases. Apple’s US App Store uses the label “Free · In-App Purchases.” In practical terms, the initial download and access to the game do not require an upfront purchase on those storefronts.

That is different from saying that every item, feature, or future season is free. The store descriptions mention heroes, builds, skins, missions, events, a trade house, and an in-game market, but those descriptions do not say that each feature is paid or that each is included under the same rules. Treat the storefront labels as evidence about the entry price and the existence of purchases, not as a complete monetization guide.

Steam and PC

The Steam listing presents the PC version as free-to-play and describes Torchlight: Infinite as a cross-platform game for PC and mobile. It also discloses in-game purchases. The available listing does not provide a complete PC catalog with a price for every paid product, so there is no supported Steam equivalent of the itemized US iOS table below.

iPhone and iPad

Apple’s US listing identifies the seller as XD Entertainment Pte Ltd and shows the app as free with in-app purchases. The prices displayed in the App Store are the most specific published figures available for this cost question, but they apply to the US storefront and iOS platform at the time of the check.

US iOS price snapshot

The following prices were shown in Apple’s US App Store listing when checked on October 13, 2026. They are digital in-game products, not a one-time purchase price for the complete game.

Listed item US App Store price What the listing establishes
60 Primocryst $0.99 A small currency bundle is offered
300 Primocryst $4.99 A larger currency bundle is offered
980 Primocryst $14.99 A currency bundle is offered
1,980 Primocryst $29.99 A currency bundle is offered
3,280 Primocryst $49.99 A currency bundle is offered
6,480 Primocryst $99.99 The largest listed currency bundle in this snapshot
Guide Qualification $14.99 A separately listed digital product
Guide Qualification + 1,500 $19.99 A combined digital product and currency amount
Pactspirit Celebration Pack $14.99 A separately listed pack
Monthly Pass $4.99 A recurring-style pass product listed by Apple; the listing snapshot does not fully explain its terms

Apple can change prices or product availability, and local taxes, exchange rates, and regional storefront rules can affect what an individual sees. The table should therefore be read as a dated US iOS snapshot rather than a promise of what a player in another country or on another platform will pay.

What can you spend, and what do the names tell you?

Primocryst bundles

Six Primocryst bundles are listed, starting at $0.99 for 60 Primocryst and reaching $99.99 for 6,480 Primocryst in the US listing. The names and prices establish that Primocryst is sold as an in-game currency, but the storefront data supplied for this article does not explain every way the currency can be used or whether it can also be earned through play.

Do not assume that the largest bundle is required or that it delivers a particular gameplay advantage. A product’s price and currency quantity alone do not establish its effect on progression, character strength, trading, or access to content.

Monthly Pass

The US iOS listing shows a Monthly Pass at $4.99. That is the price Apple displayed when checked on October 13, 2026. The available listing does not provide enough detail to state exactly what the pass grants, how long its benefits last, whether it renews automatically, or whether it is available in the same form on Steam. Review the in-game purchase dialog and Apple’s confirmation screen for the current description and renewal terms before buying.

Torchlight Mac SB
  • Randomization – Game level layouts are randomly created, so each adventure will always be unique.
  • Easy, approachable interface – Torchlight is designed to be easy to play right from the beginning. With an intuitive interface, players can dive right in!
  • Character Classes – Players will create and customize a character, choosing from 3 main Classes: The Destroyer, The Alchemist, or The Vanquisher.
  • Pets – choose a pet to accompany your character. Pets can level up along with the player; they can also fight, carry items, and perform helpful tasks.

Guide Qualification and the combined offer

Apple lists Guide Qualification at $14.99 and Guide Qualification + 1,500 at $19.99. The names indicate two separate digital offers, one of which includes an additional 1,500 amount, but the storefront evidence does not define what “qualification” unlocks or how the extra amount is delivered. Those details should be treated as product-description questions, not inferred from the price.

Pactspirit Celebration Pack

The Pactspirit Celebration Pack appears at $14.99 in the US listing. “Pack” indicates a grouped digital offer, but the source does not provide a complete item-by-item contents list or establish whether its contents affect power, appearance, convenience, or access.

Do you have to spend money to start?

No upfront payment is shown as necessary to begin on the storefronts checked. Steam’s free-to-play label and Apple’s free listing both support starting without buying a currency bundle, pass, or pack.

That answer concerns access to the game, not every possible later activity. A free download may coexist with optional purchases, and the storefront descriptions do not promise that all future offers, event rewards, or account services are available without spending. If a particular feature matters to you, check its own in-game description rather than treating the base-game label as a guarantee.

Is Torchlight: Infinite pay-to-win or cosmetic-only?

The available storefront information cannot support either broad conclusion. It confirms that purchases exist and names several products, but it does not comprehensively describe their gameplay effects. There is no adequate basis here to call the entire system pay-to-win, and no basis to promise that every purchase is cosmetic.

This distinction matters because “free-to-play” answers the entry-cost question only. Determining whether spending changes combat power, accelerates progression, expands inventory, changes trading, or supplies only visual customization requires detailed, current descriptions for each product and the rules of the relevant season. Those details may change independently of the store’s headline price.

How to check the price you will actually pay

  1. Use the storefront for your platform. On PC, open the Torchlight: Infinite page in Steam and look for the current “Free-to-play” and in-game-purchase information. On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store listing while signed in to the Apple account and region you will use.
  2. Confirm the currency and region. A dollar amount in the US App Store is not a conversion guarantee for another country. Your store may show a different currency, tax treatment, bundle, or availability.
  3. Open the product details. Select the specific pass, currency bundle, or pack. Read the amount delivered, duration, renewal language, and any restrictions shown in the current dialog.
  4. Check the final confirmation screen. Before authorizing payment, verify the account, platform, currency, and total displayed by Apple or Steam. This is the authoritative amount for that transaction, not an older screenshot or a price quoted for another region.
  5. Keep purchase controls in mind. If children or shared devices can access the account, use the platform’s purchase authentication and spending controls. They prevent an optional offer from becoming an accidental charge.

How to think about your possible budget

A zero-dollar starting budget is compatible with the storefronts’ free-to-play labels. You can download the game first and decide later whether any listed offer is useful to you.

A player who chooses the US iOS Monthly Pass would see $4.99 at the dated snapshot. Someone considering currency can choose among the listed bundles rather than treating the $99.99 option as an entry requirement. The $14.99 Guide Qualification, $19.99 combined offer, and $14.99 Pactspirit Celebration Pack are separate listed choices, not fees that the storefront says every player must pay.

These examples describe menu prices, not a recommended spending plan or a prediction of total lifetime cost. A player’s eventual spending depends on which offers are available, how often they return, and what the current season or account actually presents.

Platform, region, and date limitations

Three boundaries are especially important when comparing prices:

  • Platform: the itemized figures above come from iOS. The Steam page confirms free entry and in-game purchases but does not supply a complete matching PC price list.
  • Region: every dollar figure in the table is from Apple’s US storefront. Other countries can display different prices, currencies, taxes, or products.
  • Date: the snapshot was checked October 13, 2026. Digital storefront prices and available offers can change after that date.

Because of these limits, adding the listed prices together would not produce a universal “cost to play.” They are individually available purchase options, not a required bundle.

What the storefront descriptions do—and do not—confirm

The official listings confirm free access on Steam and the US App Store, optional in-game purchases, and a cross-platform PC/mobile description. They also mention ongoing seasons and features such as heroes, builds, skins, missions, events, a trade house, and an in-game market.

They do not, by themselves, confirm that every season is free, that every hero or build is unlocked without conditions, that trading requires payment, or that a particular purchase changes a character’s strength. Avoid relying on a product name alone when deciding whether an offer is worthwhile. Read the current offer text in your own storefront and in the game.

Bottom line for a prospective player

You can start Torchlight: Infinite without an upfront purchase on Steam or the US iOS App Store. Expect optional digital purchases rather than a single boxed-game price. In Apple’s US listing checked October 13, 2026, the displayed range is $0.99 to $99.99, with a $4.99 Monthly Pass and several currency, qualification, and pack offers in between.

Use those numbers only as a dated US iOS reference. Check your own platform and region for the price that applies to you, and do not infer that purchases are mandatory, purely cosmetic, or pay-to-win from the storefront labels alone.
