The World of Hyatt Credit Card charges a $95 annual fee and includes a Category 1–4 anniversary free-night award, Discoverist status, and qualifying-night credits. Its value depends chiefly on whether you can use the restricted free night and regularly stay at Hyatt; the card’s listed benefits do not make it worthwhile for every traveler.
What the card costs and includes
World of Hyatt lists the consumer card with a $95 annual fee. Its core benefits combine hotel-program status, qualifying-night credits, card points, and free-night awards. These are program terms, not independent valuations. World of Hyatt’s card page lists the current product benefits.

| Benefit | What World of Hyatt lists |
|---|---|
| Annual fee | $95 |
| Status | Complimentary Discoverist status |
| Anniversary award | One Category 1–4 free-night award after each cardmember anniversary |
| Additional award | A second Category 1–4 award after $15,000 of calendar-year card spend |
| Qualifying-night credits | Five each year, plus two additional credits per $5,000 in card spend |
| Card earning | 4 bonus points per dollar on qualifying Hyatt purchases; 2 per dollar in specified categories; 1 per dollar on other purchases |
How to decide whether the $95 fee is worth paying
Start with the anniversary award, not a speculative cash value for points or status. The award is restricted to Category 1–4 properties, and a suitable hotel, date, room type, and award availability all have to line up. If you can use it for a stay you would otherwise pay for, it may make the annual fee easier to justify. If you are unlikely to find a usable redemption, do not count its theoretical value as savings.

A traveler with recurring Hyatt stays may make practical use of the points and qualifying-night credits. Someone who rarely stays at Hyatt may struggle to use the certificate or hotel-specific earning, even though those benefits appear valuable on paper.

Discoverist status is an entry-level tier, not a shortcut to higher status
The card provides complimentary World of Hyatt Discoverist status. Hyatt’s tier and benefits page describes benefits including elite check-in and late checkout, subject to program terms and participating-property limits. Discoverist should not be confused with higher tiers or treated as a guarantee that every benefit will be available at every property.
Qualifying-night credits can help you progress
The five annual qualifying-night credits and two more for each $5,000 of card spend contribute toward tier qualification; they do not grant a higher tier by themselves. Hyatt says qualifying nights at participating locations on eligible rates or qualifying award stays count toward status. If you are pursuing a tier, consider these credits alongside qualifying stays and the program’s requirements rather than assuming card spend alone will secure it.

Card points and hotel-stay points are separate earnings
The card page lists 4 bonus points per dollar on qualifying Hyatt purchases, 2 per dollar in specified categories, and 1 per dollar on other purchases. Those are card earnings. Hyatt also describes points earned through eligible stays as part of its loyalty program; do not treat hotel-program earnings and card earnings as a single rate. The Hyatt earning page says free nights start at 3,000 points, but that starting level does not mean every property or date can be booked for that amount.

Who is most likely to benefit?
- A plausible fit: You expect to stay at Hyatt, can use a Category 1–4 award at a property and time that suit you, and value the qualifying-night credits or Discoverist benefits.
- A weaker fit: You do not stay at Hyatt regularly, cannot identify a realistic use for the restricted award, or would need to spend more than planned to earn additional credits or the second award.
Because the available evidence does not establish competitor card terms, this review does not claim that the $95 fee is low relative to other hotel cards. Judge it against your likely use of this card’s specific benefits.
