The Vivo V80 is a conditional buy in India: its camera range, large battery, premium glass design and OLED display make a persuasive case, but its Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 performance is not class-leading for a phone announced at ₹62,999. It makes most sense if you value those features more than maximum speed per rupee—and if you like the V80’s punchier camera colors.
Vivo V80 India price and availability
Vivo announced these India launch prices on October 6, 2026. Sales were scheduled to begin October 13 through partner retail stores, Vivo’s official website, Flipkart and Amazon. These are announced launch prices and sale details, not confirmation of current inventory or transaction prices. Vivo’s launch announcement is the source for the stated prices and sales channels.

Before buying, compare the exact storage variant at the seller you intend to use, check the current price and return terms, and count a bank or exchange benefit only if you qualify. Vivo announced several such offers, but eligibility and availability depend on retailer or platform terms; the announcement’s JioHotstar offer was not live when it was issued.

Display: strong on paper, with a refresh-rate conflict
The V80 has a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The refresh rate is listed as 144Hz in Vivo’s launch material and the independent 91mobiles review, but Vivo’s official parameter page lists 120Hz. That discrepancy is unresolved, so confirm the specification for the India retail unit before paying extra for a claimed 144Hz advantage. Vivo’s product parameters list the 120Hz figure; the launch announcement and 91mobiles’ review report 144Hz.

Vivo also lists 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. That is a peak metric, not a promise that the whole screen will sustain that brightness in everyday use.
Performance and storage: capable, not a speed leader
The India model uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, with 8GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage options. In its launch-period review, 91mobiles described performance as capable but not class-leading and noted occasional sluggishness when multitasking and opening apps on its review unit. It also found that lower-priced OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R rivals offered more powerful chipsets. Those are the reviewer’s launch-period comparisons; check current prices and like-for-like configurations rather than assuming the same value relationship holds at every sale price.

Vivo’s parameter page says storage is not expandable. Choose a capacity that fits your photo, video and app library rather than expecting to add storage later. Vivo’s official parameter page lists the memory and storage details.

The official store listing specifies a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700V main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP Sony IMX882 telephoto camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera. Vivo advertises ZEISS co-engineering, 3x optical zoom on the telephoto and 4K/60fps video. These specifications describe the hardware and features; megapixels and branding alone do not establish image quality. Vivo’s India store listing provides the camera specifications.

In 91mobiles’ comparison, the V80 produced punchier colors and did well for daylight and ultra-wide color and contrast. The reviewer judged the OPPO Reno 16 stronger overall for detail, dynamic range, skin tones, portraits and low-light realism, with more natural rendering. If you can, compare sample portraits, faces and night shots: the right choice depends partly on whether you prefer vivid output or a more natural look.
Battery, charging and weight
Vivo lists a 7,200mAh typical battery capacity and 7,015mAh rated/minimum capacity. It specifies 90W charging when using Vivo’s original charger and cable. In 91mobiles’ PCMark battery test, which ran from 100% down to 20%, the V80 recorded 18 hours and 36 minutes; the reviewer also reported a full day of regular use with charge extending into the next day. That is one publication’s test and experience, not a guarantee for a different workload. Vivo’s store listing states the capacities and charging specification; 91mobiles’ review describes its test.

The phone weighs 203g and is 7.69mm thick, according to Vivo. The battery capacity may appeal if endurance is a priority, but this is not a lightweight compact handset.

Build and software support
Vivo lists a glass back and IP68 and IP69 ratings. These ratings do not guarantee protection from every liquid or drop-related incident, so check the warranty terms before relying on them.

Launch coverage says the V80 ships with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. 91mobiles reports four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Confirm the applicable India support policy with Vivo if the update commitment is important to how long you plan to keep the phone. - Consider it if you want a versatile camera setup, a high-capacity battery, a premium glass design and an OLED display, and you prefer punchier color in photos.
- Compare alternatives first if gaming performance, fast multitasking or maximum processing power for the money matters most. The launch-period 91mobiles review found faster-chipset rivals at lower prices.
- Compare camera samples if natural skin tones, portrait detail or low-light realism are priorities; the review favored the OPPO Reno 16 on several of those measures.
- Check the size in hand if you want a compact or especially light phone: the V80 weighs 203g.
Buying checklist
- Compare the current total price. Match the storage variant and purchase date, then apply bank or exchange offers only if you meet their conditions. Recheck sale availability rather than treating the October 2026 launch schedule as a current stock guarantee.
- Match the processor to your workload. Everyday use and content capture may fit the V80; for demanding games or speed per rupee, compare current configurations and prices of the OnePlus 15R and iQOO 15R cited in 91mobiles’ launch-period review.
- Judge the camera by the photos you care about. Compare portraits, skin tones and low-light scenes with the OPPO Reno 16 if natural rendering matters; the V80’s punchier color may suit your taste better.
- Verify the screen refresh rate. Ask Vivo or the retailer to confirm whether the exact India unit is 120Hz or 144Hz before treating the higher figure as a buying benefit.
- Choose storage up front. India configurations have 8GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage, and Vivo says the storage is not expandable.
- Confirm support and protection terms. Verify the India software-update policy and any current V-Shield screen-damage or extended-warranty offer, including price, coverage and eligibility. An announced offer is not proof it is currently redeemable.
Long-term reliability, battery aging and sustained gaming thermals are not established by launch-period coverage, so treat those as unknowns rather than proven strengths or weaknesses.
