The UPPAbaby Cruz V3 is a full-size stroller for one child, specified for use from birth through 50 lb or 40 in. Its most important buying questions are whether its 22.5-inch width and 26.5 lb frame-and-seat weight suit your routine, whether you want a separate bassinet, and whether you need a stroller that expands for siblings. UPPAbaby lists a lay-flat seat and direct attachment for its Mesa and Aria infant car seats; this review covers manufacturer specifications and instructions, not independent hands-on testing.
What is the Cruz V3 designed for?
The North American Cruz V3 is a full-size, single-child stroller. UPPAbaby specifies a child-use range from birth to 50 lb and a maximum height of 40 in. The manual says it is intended for one child unless used with an approved UPPAbaby accessory. That makes the Cruz a natural fit to consider for one child, but less suitable than an expandable stroller if you expect to carry siblings in seats.

Will it work for a newborn?
UPPAbaby describes the Cruz V3 seat as lay-flat and suitable from birth, and lists an infant insert among the included items. The company’s manual gives a key instruction: “For newborns, use the most reclined position of the seat.” It also requires the complete five-point harness and says not to use the seat reclined unless the child is secured in that harness and the foot barrier is in place. Follow the manual’s setup and use instructions rather than relying on the product description alone.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Seat, bassinet or infant car seat
- Stroller seat: The lay-flat seat and infant insert are the listed newborn setup. Use the most reclined position and secure the child as the manual directs.
- Bassinet: It attaches directly to the stroller but is sold separately. Consider it if a dedicated bassinet setup is important to your plans.
- Infant car seat: UPPAbaby lists its Mesa and Aria seats as direct attachments without adapters. Confirm compatibility for your exact seat and market before purchasing.
Do not assume that a third-party capsule fits because it works with a Cruz in another country. UPPAbaby Australia lists certain third-party capsules that require a Vista and Cruz car-seat upper adapter, including specified Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Joie and Britax models, and excludes the Bugaboo Turtle. That is an Australian-market list, not a universal compatibility guide; check the current local chart for the precise car-seat model and date.
How large and heavy is it?
For US buyers, UPPAbaby lists the frame at 17 lb and the seat at 9.5 lb, for a frame-and-seat total of 26.5 lb. The unfolded stroller measures 37.5 × 22.5 × 41.8 in. Its relatively narrow 22.5-inch width may matter in doorways and storage spaces, but check your own route and vehicle rather than assuming a fit.

| Configuration or limit | North American specification |
|---|---|
| Frame and seat weight | 26.5 lb (frame 17 lb; seat 9.5 lb) |
| Unfolded dimensions | 37.5 × 22.5 × 41.8 in |
| Folded with seat attached | 17 × 22.5 × 32.5 in on the product page; 17 × 22.5 × 32.4 in on the 2025 comparison chart |
| Folded without seat | 13.5 × 22.5 × 30.3 in |
| Maximum basket load | 30 lb, according to the product manual |
The one-tenth-inch variation in the folded height is a small discrepancy between UPPAbaby’s product page and its 2025 US/Canada chart. Measure your vehicle’s trunk opening and allow practical clearance, especially if you plan to fold the stroller with its seat attached.

Those are regional metric figures; do not mix them with the North American listings. The Australian guidance also advises measuring the boot opening rather than relying on the boot’s internal storage dimensions.

What folds with the stroller, and what safety details matter?
UPPAbaby’s US/Canada comparison chart describes a one-step fold that stands when folded. Regional folding instructions can differ: UPPAbaby Australia says the seat may remain attached only when it faces forward, and that a bassinet or capsule must be removed first. Its steps also call for the seat to face away from the caregiver, the canopy to be closed, the handlebar lowered and the fold latch checked. Use the manual and support information for your own market and configuration for the exact procedure.

The North American manual warns caregivers to keep a child away while unfolding or folding to avoid finger entrapment. It also cautions that exceeding recommended loads or using an unapproved parcel bag, accessory or rack can make the stroller unstable. Keep basket contents within the stated 30 lb limit and use only accessories approved for the stroller.

What comes in the box, and what costs extra?
UPPAbaby’s US product page lists an infant insert, toddler-seat bug shield and toddler-seat rain shield with the stroller. The 2025 US/Canada comparison chart likewise lists those three items. The bassinet is a separate purchase; UPPAbaby presents a cup holder and snack tray as add-ons. Retail bundles and exact box contents can differ, so verify the specific SKU and seller listing before buying rather than relying on product photos.
How does the Cruz V3 compare with other UPPAbaby strollers?
UPPAbaby’s 2025 US/Canada chart provides a useful size-and-capacity comparison. It lists Cruz V3 and Vista V3 as full-size choices with direct attachment for the named UPPAbaby infant seats. The chart’s figures are specifications, not independent test results.
| Model | Weight | Width | Basket limit | Child capacity or distinction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cruz V3 | 26.5 lb | 22.5 in | 30 lb | One child; chart counts two only with the approved PiggyBack ride-along board arrangement |
| Vista V3 | 27.6 lb | 25.7 in | 30 lb | Up to three children in specified configurations, including expansion and twin configurations |
| Ridge | 29.2 lb | 26 in | 20 lb | 55 lb child limit; chart lists 12/16 in wheels |
The Vista is the more relevant alternative if you want seat-based expansion for siblings, though it is wider and slightly heavier in the chart. The Cruz is narrower and lighter, but its second-child option is a ride-along board rather than another seat. The Ridge is wider and heavier, with larger wheels and a higher child weight limit; consider it if those distinctions matter more than compact width or carrying weight.

Before choosing, check the folded dimensions against your trunk opening; decide whether you need a bassinet or car-seat configuration; consider your terrain and how much you will carry the stroller; and price any accessories you actually need. Who should consider the Cruz V3?
It may suit you if
- You want a full-size stroller for one child, including a newborn setup using the reclined seat or a separately purchased bassinet.
- The 22.5-inch width and 26.5 lb frame-and-seat weight fit your storage and lifting constraints.
- You value the listed reversible seat, adjustable recline and leg rest, canopy, and compatibility with UPPAbaby’s Mesa or Aria infant car seats.
Look at another configuration if
- You expect to transport two children in stroller seats: the Vista V3 is the chart’s expandable option, while the Cruz’s listed second-child arrangement uses a ride-along board.
- Your vehicle has a tight trunk opening: compare the stroller’s folded height and width with the opening, not just the available interior volume.
- You need a third-party infant car seat: verify the exact seat, adapter and regional compatibility information before purchase.
