No—not natively. Samsung lists the Galaxy S23 Ultra as supporting WPC wireless charging, but its specifications do not list built-in MagSafe alignment magnets or Qi2 Magnetic Power Profile support. A magnetic-ring case may let some MagSafe-style accessories attach, but charging and accessory compatibility depend on the specific case and accessory.
Does the Galaxy S23 Ultra work with MagSafe?
The Galaxy S23 Ultra supports wireless charging under the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) standard, commonly known as Qi. Samsung’s specification says “Wireless charging compatible with WPC” and lists Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare. It does not list Apple MagSafe or built-in magnetic alignment for the S23 Ultra. Samsung’s S23 Ultra specifications therefore establish Qi/WPC charging, not native MagSafe compatibility.

MagSafe is more than wireless charging: supported iPhones include a built-in magnet array and alignment magnet, features Apple lists in its iPhone specifications. Those magnets help align compatible accessories. Samsung does not list equivalent built-in alignment magnets for the S23 Ultra.

Can you use a MagSafe charger with the S23 Ultra?
A MagSafe-style charger may charge the phone as a Qi charger if the charger and phone are compatible, but without phone-side magnets the S23 Ultra will not snap into magnetic alignment on its own. A magnetic-ring case can provide an attachment point for some accessories, including mounts and chargers, but that does not guarantee reliable charging, a particular charging speed, or every accessory function.

Attachment, charging, and accessory features are separate questions: an accessory may stick to a case without charging the phone, and wireless charging may work without the accessory attaching magnetically. Check the charger and case maker’s compatibility details for the exact combination. Samsung warns that magnetic cases or accessories can affect performance and that ordinary pad-style chargers may stop charging when used with magnetic cases. Samsung’s magnetic-case guidance, dated September 15, 2026, addresses certain later flagship models; it is not evidence that the S23 Ultra supports Qi2 MPP.
Do you need a magnetic case for the Galaxy S23 Ultra?
You need a magnetic-ring case if you want to attach accessories that rely on a magnetic ring and the phone itself has no listed MagSafe alignment magnets. Choose one explicitly made for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, not merely another Samsung phone. Samsung lists the S23 Ultra at 163.4 × 78.1 × 8.9 mm and 233 g; those dimensions do not certify a case’s fit, magnetic strength, or charging behavior. Samsung Support’s specifications identify the phone’s size and weight.

- Confirm the case is labeled for the Galaxy S23 Ultra and fits its camera layout.
- Check which accessories the case maker says the magnetic ring supports.
- For wireless charging, confirm that the exact case-and-charger pairing is supported; do not assume a magnetic case will work on every pad-style charger.

Will a magnetic case affect wireless charging?
It can. Samsung cautions that some unapproved magnetic cases or accessories may affect performance and that ordinary pad-style chargers can stop charging with magnetic cases. Its current guidance recommends pairing a Qi2-certified magnetic case with a Qi2-certified MPP charger for the later models covered by that guidance; it does not extend that recommendation to the S23 Ultra. For this phone, verify the case and charger’s own compatibility information rather than assuming certification or reliable charging from the magnetic ring alone.
