The Russell Hobbs Master RHSV6000 combines slow cooking, water-bath sous vide and food-temperature-probe cooking in one 6L appliance. Its manual documents useful controls and a multi-part setup, but the available evidence does not establish how well it performs in practice: there is no hands-on test here, and CHOICE’s retrieved product page provides specifications rather than a usable score or verdict.
What the RHSV6000 does
The official manual describes three distinct modes. Russell Hobbs Australia also lists all three functions and a 6L capacity; these are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance measurements. - Slow cook: Conventional slow-cooker operation, with low, high and keep-warm choices. The manual does not state temperatures for these settings.
- Sous vide: Sealed food bags cook in water. In this mode, the probe measures the water bath.
- Temperature probe: The probe is inserted into food to sense its internal temperature. The manual says slow-cook mode cannot be used with the probe element.
The probe therefore serves different purposes depending on the selected mode: water temperature for sous vide, food temperature for probe cooking. It is not a probe-based temperature control option for slow cooking.

The manual lists these settings. Its ranges and times are appliance settings, not guidance that a particular food is safe when cooked at any one combination.

For sous vide, safe results depend on factors including water heat transfer, accurate temperature and sufficient time. Use the complete manual and applicable food-safety guidance for the specific food and recipe; the cooker’s 38°C–91°C range alone is not a food-safety recommendation.
What setup and accessories are involved?
Sous vide takes more preparation than selecting a setting on a basic slow cooker. The manual’s procedure uses the rack in the bowl, water in the bowl, food in sealed bags, the closed lid and the probe positioned in the water. Follow the full manual’s instructions for the sequence and probe placement.

The manual’s parts illustration identifies a glass lid, ceramic bowl, temperature probe and cord, locking wires, cooking base, probe port, lid gasket, probe insertion points, six-slot rack and two seal bags. Confirm what is included with a particular regional package or second-hand unit; the illustration does not establish the contents of every sale.
Size and kitchen fit
Russell Hobbs Australia states a 6L capacity. CHOICE also lists the RHSV6000 as a six-litre oval cooker with a ceramic bowl, weighing 6.5 kg and measuring 29 × 46 × 28 cm (height × width × depth). These are listed specifications, not independently verified measurements in the available material. Check the space required for the appliance and its lid, as well as where you will store the bowl and accessories.

What independent testing establishes
CHOICE’s product page lists the model’s capacity, shape, bowl material, weight, dimensions and functions. It names Kim Gilmour and describes her product-testing role, but the retrieved page material does not provide a usable RHSV6000 score or product-test conclusion. It would be inaccurate to call the model a CHOICE recommendation or to infer a performance verdict from that page.
No hands-on results, long-term reliability findings or independent performance measurements are established here. The documented functions and settings help clarify what the appliance is designed to do, but do not show how evenly it heats, how accurately it holds temperature or how durable it is.

Who may find the combination useful?
The RHSV6000 is most relevant if you want a slow cooker and sous-vide water bath in one appliance and expect to use the food-probe mode as well. The appeal is having those documented functions together; the practical trade-off is that sous vide requires bagged food, water-bath setup and careful attention to temperature and time.

If your priority is only conventional slow cooking, the extra modes and setup may not matter to you. If you are choosing among a slow cooker, a separate immersion circulator and another sous-vide cooker, compare control ranges and durations, capacity and shape, included parts, bag handling, and the quality of independent performance evidence. The information available here does not support a claim that the RHSV6000 is better than those alternatives.
