The seat has its own attached adapters, so no extra adapters are needed to attach the seat to the chassis. The longer adapters supplied with the kit are for specified arrangements involving the main seat or a carrycot or car seat. Follow the instructions for the exact configuration rather than assuming every combination uses the same parts.
Who can use the Duo seat?
The manufacturer’s UK listing specifies use from 6 months to approximately 3.5 years, up to 15 kg. These are the Duo seat’s stated limits; they should not be replaced with limits listed for a different Lila model. Check the seat’s labels and the manual for the instructions applicable to your product and market.

How the seat faces, reclines and folds
Forward-facing only, with no recline
The Duo seat faces forward and does not recline. That makes it a poor fit if you need the added seat to offer a lie-back position or to face the parent.
Remove it before folding
You cannot fold the Lila with the Duo seat attached. Remove the second seat first. Maxi-Cosi says the adapters and pedal may remain on the stroller when folding; consult the Lila Duo Kit instructions for use for the assembly and folding procedure.

Does the Duo seat fit other Maxi-Cosi strollers?
No. Maxi-Cosi states that the Lila Duo Kit is compatible only with the Maxi-Cosi Lila stroller. Do not assume it fits another Maxi-Cosi chassis—or the separately listed Lila CP—because the names are similar. The Lila Duo Kit listing and the Lila CP support page describe separate products.

The distinction matters: Maxi-Cosi’s Lila CP page lists a 6-month-to-4-year range, a 22 kg limit, an 11 kg product weight, and folding with its seat. Those specifications apply to the Lila CP, not the Lila Duo add-on or a Lila configured with the Duo seat. They are not evidence that the Duo seat has those limits or folds while attached.

Which car seats or carrycots work with the kit?
Maxi-Cosi describes Duo use with a carrycot or car seat, but the available product information does not establish a complete, universal compatibility list. Model, adapters, and regional availability can affect the setup. Check the exact carrycot or car-seat model against the instructions and current local Maxi-Cosi compatibility information before buying; do not infer compatibility from the brand name alone.
Accessories and setup considerations
Maxi-Cosi lists the Lila child tray, Lila cup holder, Maxi-Cosi Footmuff, and Maxi-Cosi 2-in-1 Footmuff as compatible with the Duo seat. Confirm the exact accessory and market listing, and whether it is sold separately, before relying on it being included.

In practical terms, the kit adds another component to install and remove, and it cannot stay attached for folding. The included adapters have distinct purposes: the seat’s attached adapters connect it to the chassis, while the longer adapters are used for certain other arrangements. Is the Maxi-Cosi Lila Duo Seat worth it?
It may suit a family that already owns the compatible Lila, wants a second forward-facing seat within the stated 15 kg limit, and accepts removing the seat before folding. It is less suitable if you need a recline, want a seat that folds on the chassis, or are considering buying it for a different stroller. Because the available sources provide specifications and constraints rather than hands-on performance results, they do not establish how it compares for ride comfort, maneuverability, or durability.
