That makes it a notable discount against the post-increase price, but “lowest since June” is WIRED writer Luke Larsen’s observation, not a verified all-time low. Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days run October 6–7, 2026, and the offer may change; check the live listing before buying.
What the Prime Day deal includes
The reported $1,099 offer is for the 13-inch MacBook Air with Apple’s M5 chip, 16GB unified memory, and 512GB SSD. WIRED listed its starting price as $1,299 and the discount as $200 on October 6, 2026. Macworld also listed this same configuration at $1,099 during October Prime Day.

How low is it compared with past prices?
Luke Larsen, WIRED Product Writer & Reviewer, described $1,099 as “the best price I’ve seen on the MacBook Air since the beginning of the summer, when Apple introduced its $200 price increase.” That is a useful comparison to the higher starting price, but it reflects Larsen’s observation—not a comprehensive price-history record.

In its October 6 deal coverage, WIRED said it would not recommend older M4 Airs over the latest model based on the discounts then available.
