The 825-piece set has recognizable character detail, two Derpy expressions, movable parts, and small accessories that store inside Derpy’s head.
It is a less convincing purchase for someone who only mildly likes the film, wants a larger scene, or dislikes the model’s slightly less-than-film-accurate proportions. LEGO’s official listed price was $69.99 in the United States and £59.99 in the United Kingdom on October 13, 2026, so the final decision depends on local price, character attachment, and whether this compact display format suits your space.

What do you get in the box?
A two-character display model
The central appeal is the pair itself. Derpy and Sussie are both poseable, so the finished build can be adjusted instead of remaining a fixed statue. That gives the set two uses: it can sit as a shelf display, and it can be repositioned for play or photography.
LEGO gives Derpy two expressions. Changing the face lets the same model present a different mood without rebuilding the entire character. For a fan who cares about Derpy’s personality, this is more meaningful than a single unchanging head.
Small story accessories
The accessories include two love notes and a flowerpot. They are relatively small additions, but they give the display a little context and provide pieces to handle during play. LEGO says the accessories can be stored in a compartment in Derpy’s head, which is useful when you want a clean display or need to pack the model away.
The storage feature also reduces the chance that the loose accessories will become separated from the main build. It does not make the set a large playset with multiple locations; the accessories support the character presentation rather than creating an extensive environment.
How good is the character design?
Brickset’s review of the exact set, dated June 19, 2026, praised how well the characters translate into LEGO form. The review particularly highlighted Derpy’s detail and expressiveness, along with the appeal of displaying the completed pair. Those are important strengths because the set’s value comes primarily from seeing and posing the characters, not from the number of separate structures included.
Brickset’s reservation was that Derpy’s proportions could be closer to those seen in the film. That is a specific design criticism, not a claim that the model is unrecognizable. It means buyers who want a screen-accurate replica should look closely at official product images before ordering and decide whether the stylized LEGO interpretation works for them.

The result is a trade-off: the build prioritizes a friendly, expressive, poseable LEGO character over exact cinematic anatomy. Fans who value personality and shelf presence may consider that a good exchange. Collectors seeking strict proportions may be more demanding.

Price and availability by region
LEGO’s product pages showed the following official prices and availability when checked on October 13, 2026:
| Market | LEGO listed price | Availability on October 13, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| United States | $69.99 | Available now |
| United Kingdom | £59.99 | Available now |
These are regional LEGO list prices observed on that date. They are not a guarantee of today’s price, a future promotion, or a third-party retailer’s stock. Check the product page or a local retailer immediately before buying, especially if the set is intended as a birthday or holiday gift.
Netflix Tudum’s June 15, 2026 announcement described the 825-piece set as available for preorder at that point. That earlier release announcement should not be confused with current stock status; the “Available now” entries above came from LEGO’s US and UK product listings.
What does the price buy you?
Piece-count arithmetic is only a rough reference
At the US list price, the arithmetic is about 8.5 US cents per piece ($69.99 divided by 825). At the UK list price, it is about 7.3 pence per piece (£59.99 divided by 825). These figures are simple calculations, not a quality score or a market statistic. Pieces vary widely in size and specialty, and a character model’s printed or molded detail can matter more than raw quantity.
The set’s price is easier to justify when you value the finished pair, the two expressions, the poseability and the integrated accessory storage. If you are buying only for a high piece count, much of the set’s appeal may be lost because the pieces are organized around two specific characters rather than a broad assortment of builds.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

Brickset’s value opinion
Brickset considered prices of £59.99, $69.99 or €69.99 reasonable in the context of other licensed buildable characters. That is the reviewer’s judgment, not a universal measure of value. Your local price, the importance of these characters to you, and the amount of display space you have can produce a different answer.
Who is most likely to think it is worth buying?
Fans who want Derpy and Sussie specifically
The strongest case is a buyer who already likes the characters and wants a physical representation of them. A recognizable character pair can be more satisfying than a larger generic build when the emotional connection is the main reason for buying.
Display-focused builders
The model is suited to a shelf, desk or cabinet where a compact character duo can be seen from several angles. Its listed footprint is modest enough for many ordinary shelves, while the height gives it a visible presence. Plan for a little clearance around the model so movable parts can be adjusted without knocking into neighboring objects.

Builders who like light customization
Two Derpy expressions and poseable parts provide a limited but useful way to change the presentation. You can choose the face and stance that fit your display without modifying the underlying design. This is a better fit for someone who enjoys arranging a finished model than for someone seeking a large construction project with many alternate builds.
Gift buyers who know the recipient’s taste
The 9+ guidance gives an age reference, but character enthusiasm remains the more important gift criterion. A recipient who knows and likes Derpy and Sussie is more likely to appreciate a focused character set than someone receiving it only because it has a familiar LEGO logo.
Who should hesitate or skip it?
Buyers who are not attached to the characters
If Derpy and Sussie are not meaningful to you, the set offers fewer independent reasons to spend the listed price. It does not include a large setting, several locations or a broad cast of characters. In that situation, compare the price with other building experiences available locally rather than assuming the license alone makes it good value.

Collectors demanding film-accurate proportions
Brickset’s proportion criticism matters most to buyers who display models beside film images or other highly accurate collectibles. The design is an interpretation in LEGO form. Examine the official images and decide whether the stylization is acceptable before ordering.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsPeople looking for a substantial play environment
The listed contents center on Derpy, Sussie, two love notes and a flowerpot. The accessories support the characters, but they do not turn the box into a multi-location playset. If the desired experience is building a complete scene with many structures, this is the wrong format.
Buyers relying on an old price or preorder announcement
Prices and inventory change. The June 2026 preorder context and the October 13, 2026 LEGO prices are useful points in time, not permanent terms. Recheck the current regional listing and delivery date before paying.
How to decide at your local price
Use the following sequence rather than treating “worth it” as a universal yes or no:
- Confirm the identity. Make sure the listing says set 72537 and names both Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird. This prevents confusing the product with another KPop Demon Hunters item.
- Record the current total. Check the price in your currency, then add any delivery charge or tax that the seller shows. The historical US and UK list prices are reference points, not a ceiling or floor for every market.
- Check the format you actually want. This is a poseable two-character display model. If you want vehicles, a large environment or many minifigures, the format itself may be a mismatch.
- Assess character attachment. Ask whether the recipient would still want the model if the set were presented without the film license. A strong “yes” indicates that the characters are doing real value work.
- Inspect the proportions. Compare the official product images with your expectations of Derpy. Brickset’s review found the model expressive and detailed while noting that its proportions could be closer to the film.
- Measure the destination. Reserve room for a model about 21 cm high, 15 cm long and 15 cm wide in LEGO’s stated pose, plus working space for repositioning.
- Decide how you will handle the accessories. If loose small pieces are inconvenient, the head compartment provides a built-in storage option. If you want the flowerpot and love notes on display, leave room for them outside the main footprint.
- Buy from a source with clear stock and returns. “Available now” can change, and a return policy matters if the box arrives damaged or the product is not the expected set.
Display planning and everyday use
Choose a stable surface
Because both characters are poseable, a stable, level shelf is preferable to a narrow ledge that can be bumped easily. Place the model where people can see Derpy’s face and Sussie’s position; a deep cabinet may hide the expression that makes the set appealing.

Poseability is useful only if you can reach the model. Leave enough clearance to change Derpy’s expression or reposition the characters without moving neighboring objects. The listed dimensions describe one arrangement, so a dynamic pose can require a little more room.

Use the storage compartment deliberately
The compartment in Derpy’s head gives you two sensible display modes. Store the love notes and flowerpot for a cleaner character silhouette, or remove them when you want the scene-setting details visible. Keeping the accessories with the model also makes future moves or seasonal rearrangements easier.
Release context and designer involvement
Netflix Tudum’s June 15, 2026 announcement included a comment from LEGO Senior Design Master Wes Talbott: “I had already watched the movie a few times, and as soon as I heard about it, I knew I wanted to work on it.” The quote shows that the designer had a personal interest in the film and project. It does not establish build quality, accuracy, customer satisfaction or sales performance, so it should be treated as background rather than proof that the set is a good purchase.
Bottom-line buying scenarios
Buy at the listed price
Buying at the observed LEGO price makes the most sense when the recipient actively wants Derpy and Sussie, appreciates a compact display model and accepts the stylized proportions. In that scenario, the poseability, expression choice and storage feature add practical value beyond simply owning two static figures.
Wait for a discount
Waiting is sensible when you like the characters but feel uncertain about the price or the film-to-LEGO proportions. A lower local price reduces the risk of disappointment, while the set’s core features remain the same. Do not assume a discount will occur or that stock will remain available; those outcomes depend on the seller and date.
Skip it
Skip the set when the characters are not important to you, when you need a large scene rather than a character pair, or when the proportions conflict with your collecting standards. More pieces would not solve those format or design mismatches.
Verdict
LEGO KPop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird is a focused, character-led purchase. Its 825 pieces produce a recognizable, poseable pair with two Derpy expressions, small display accessories and a compartment for storing them. Brickset’s positive assessment of the detail and personality supports its role as a display model, while the noted proportion issue explains why it will not satisfy every accuracy-focused collector.
At the LEGO prices observed on October 13, 2026, the set is easiest to recommend to a committed KPop Demon Hunters fan who wants these characters on a shelf. For everyone else, make the decision from the current local total, the recipient’s attachment to Derpy and Sussie, and whether a compact two-character model is genuinely the experience you want.
