Nintendo’s US product page lists the physical Switch 2 game as “Currently unavailable,” and reports describe sellouts in Brazil and at individual retailers. Those are regional or store-specific stock updates—not confirmation that every physical copy has sold out permanently. Nintendo lists the game for release on November 5, 2026.
What “sold out” means for this release
Availability depends on the country and retailer. Nintendo’s US product page currently shows the physical game as “Currently unavailable.” That status applies to Nintendo’s US listing; it does not establish that the game is unavailable from every US retailer or in other markets.

In Brazil, Tecnoblog reported on September 17, 2026, that physical preorders sold out in about 10 minutes. The report said Nintendo had not confirmed another batch at that time. Separately, Nintendo Life reported that one retailer sought to double its order after Nintendo revealed the special packaging, but could not add to it. Neither report proves a worldwide or permanent sellout.
Where to check for a physical copy
For US buyers, start with Nintendo’s US product listing, then check major retailers serving your region. Stock can change, so confirm that the item is the physical Nintendo Switch 2 game and that the listing is available for your location before ordering. A listing marked unavailable at one store is not a reliable measure of all retailers’ inventory.

What the first-print foil cover includes
Nintendo says the first print run of the physical game will have textured foil cover art “available while supplies last,” according to its announcement reproduced by Gematsu. This is a packaging feature for the first physical print run, not a separately announced limited game edition. Nintendo has not stated how many copies will have the foil cover, and later physical copies should not be assumed to include it.

A retailer’s experience illustrates why first-print packaging may be hard to secure in some places, without establishing the situation across the market. Nintendo Life quoted Ricardo Vieira, commercial director at Gamer Hut, saying the retailer had forecast its order before learning about the foil packaging and could not increase it after production could no longer accommodate an additional order.

No. Nintendo describes the Electric OCARINA OF TIME as an optional electronic toy designed to interact with the game’s sound-recognition feature.
