Tom’s Hardware found strong CPU performance and a vivid 120 Hz OLED on its Snapdragon X2 Elite review unit; buyers should check the processor, screen, memory, storage, and ports on the exact SKU before applying those results to another model.
What the OmniBook Ultra 14 name covers
HP lists OmniBook Ultra 14 configurations with Snapdragon X2 Elite, Snapdragon X2 Plus, and Intel Core Ultra processors. Its US product page currently presents a Snapdragon X2 Elite configuration with 32 GB of memory, a 2 TB SSD, and a 3K OLED touchscreen. HP also maintains separate support specifications for Snapdragon 14-kg0000 and Intel 14-kd0000 series, underscoring that features vary by configuration and market.

That distinction matters: benchmark figures below belong to Tom’s Hardware’s Snapdragon X2 Elite review unit, not every OmniBook Ultra 14. HP’s US store configuration and its New Zealand specification listings are also different market references, not interchangeable prices or guarantees of identical availability. Check the precise model number and regional listing before buying. HP’s US product listing, Snapdragon series specifications, and Intel series specifications provide separate starting points.

Tom’s Hardware recorded 3,942 in Geekbench 6 single-core and 20,075 in multi-core testing on its Snapdragon X2 Elite review unit. In its HandBrake test, that unit converted a 4K video to 1080p in 2 minutes 11 seconds. These results indicate capable CPU performance for demanding everyday work and video conversion, but they describe the tested processor and workload—not a guarantee for Snapdragon X2 Plus or Intel variants. Tom’s Hardware’s review reports the measurements.

Which display does a buyer get?
The review unit used a 14-inch 2880 × 1800 OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Tom’s Hardware measured maximum brightness of 414 nits and 87% DCI-P3 coverage. That combination is suited to vivid media and smooth scrolling, though the measured brightness is a more useful guide than simply calling the display bright.
Do not assume every configuration has that panel. HP also lists lower-resolution 2K OLED options. Verify the resolution and refresh rate in the exact SKU listing; the 120 Hz measurement applies to the review configuration, not the whole product family.

Battery life: why HP’s claim and the review result differ
Tom’s Hardware measured 13 hours 27 minutes from a 70 Wh battery on its Snapdragon X2 Elite review unit. Its test combined web browsing, video streaming, and WebGL with the display set to 150 nits. HP advertises “up to 44 hours” for a configuration-specific local video playback test. That manufacturer maximum uses a different workload and should not be treated as a prediction for mixed daily use or compared directly with the independent test. HP’s product page carries the claim and its qualification.
Ports and other trade-offs to check
Tom’s Hardware reported that its Snapdragon review unit lacked Thunderbolt ports. HP’s Snapdragon specifications list USB4, while the separate Intel series specifications list Thunderbolt 4. These standards and processor families are not interchangeable details: check the exact model if you depend on a Thunderbolt dock or peripherals.

The review also judged the webcam middling for the laptop’s price. That is a reviewer’s assessment of the tested unit, not a claim that every configuration has an identical camera experience. For frequent video calls, consider whether the built-in camera meets your needs.

For software compatibility, the key distinction is the processor family. The review and HP specifications establish that Snapdragon and Intel versions exist, but do not establish compatibility for every individual app or peripheral. If your workflow depends on a specific application, driver, or accessory, confirm support for that exact model before purchase.

Quick Recap
What to verify before ordering
- Processor family and full model number, since the review’s benchmark results apply only to its Snapdragon X2 Elite unit.
- Display resolution and refresh rate; 120 Hz and 2880 × 1800 describe the tested OLED, while HP lists 2K OLED alternatives.
- Installed memory and SSD capacity, which differ by SKU.
- Port standard: HP lists USB4 for Snapdragon models and Thunderbolt 4 for the Intel series.
