It is a poor fit if you need an offline game, have unreliable internet, or are buying a console copy without accounting for the multiplayer subscription requirement.
Ubisoft’s current listings cover PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and, from October 8, 2026, Nintendo Switch 2. Editions range from the base game to bundles containing multiple passes, playlists, cosmetics and vehicle packs. This guide explains the practical differences, the online rules, the five-hour trial, Switch 2 availability and the PC hardware you need before spending money.

Is The Crew Motorfest worth buying?
Buy it when all three of these statements are true:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- You enjoy a large open-world driving game that stays connected to Ubisoft’s services.
- Your preferred platform is supported and your internet connection is dependable.
- The edition you select includes content you actually want at the final price shown in your region.
Do not buy it as an offline road-trip game, a guaranteed one-time purchase with no service dependency, or a way to avoid a console multiplayer subscription. The game’s value is especially sensitive to edition contents: a higher-tier bundle can be worthwhile for a player who wants its passes and vehicles, while the same bundle is wasteful if you only need the base campaign and free-roam access.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Because Ubisoft does not publish one stable, comparable price table for every country, the correct value calculation is local: compare the checkout price with the specific playlists, passes, vehicle counts and customization items shown for your territory on the day you buy.
What kind of game are you buying?
Motorfest is an open-world racing game delivered as a connected service. Progress, events and online features are designed around Ubisoft’s servers rather than a self-contained disc or download. That model can provide a broad map, rotating activities and shared features, but it also creates a hard requirement that matters more than the edition label: the game must be able to reach the internet when you play.
Digital and physical ownership do not change that design. A disc or cartridge can install files and provide a license, but it does not convert the game into an offline product. Treat internet access as a system requirement in the same way you would treat storage or a compatible operating system.
Can you play The Crew Motorfest offline?
No. The Ubisoft Store listing states: “Permanent internet connection required to play.” That requirement applies to the game generally, not only to competitive multiplayer. Ubisoft’s Switch 2 announcement uses similarly direct wording: “An online connection is required to play the game.”
Consequently, you should not plan to play during a flight, in a holiday home with no service, or in a location where your connection drops frequently. A physical Switch 2 copy does not provide an offline fallback. If Ubisoft’s servers, your home network or your platform account cannot authenticate, access can be interrupted even though the game is installed locally.

Before buying, test the connection at the place where you will play. If your network uses strict parental controls, a captive-portal login, corporate filtering or a mobile hotspot with unstable coverage, check that the platform can maintain a normal online session. These checks are more useful than simply confirming that a download completed.
Which platforms support The Crew Motorfest?
| Platform | Availability noted by Ubisoft | Format or requirement to check |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 4 | Listed on Ubisoft’s game page | Digital or disc availability depends on the local store; internet is required |
| PlayStation 5 | Listed on Ubisoft’s game page | Check the edition, storage and any console multiplayer subscription requirement |
| Xbox One | Listed on Ubisoft’s game page | Check the local digital or physical listing and online-service requirement |
| Xbox Series X|S | Listed on Ubisoft’s game page | Check the edition and available storage before purchase |
| PC | Listed on Ubisoft’s game page | Verify Windows, CPU, GPU, RAM and storage against Ubisoft’s current support page |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Added for an October 8, 2026 release | Physical retail and Nintendo eShop editions were announced; online connection remains required |
Retail inventory, regional age ratings and edition names can differ. A store page that appears to offer a particular bundle may be showing a territory-specific package, so inspect the contents before payment rather than relying on a generic product image.
Is The Crew Motorfest on Nintendo Switch 2?
Yes. Ubisoft announced a Nintendo Switch 2 release for October 8, 2026, with both a physical retail edition and a Nintendo eShop version. Ubisoft’s October 2026 Help listing also includes Switch 2 among the supported platforms.
The Switch 2 version is not an offline edition. Ubisoft’s announcement explicitly says an online connection is required. That is important if you are considering the physical cartridge as a travel purchase: the physical format does not remove the connection requirement.
The five-hour trial listing discussed below names PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but does not list Switch 2. Do not assume a Switch 2 trial exists unless Nintendo or Ubisoft adds it to a current regional listing.

| Grand Garage | Base game, Car Pack with 60 vehicles and the three Fitted packs | Collectors who value a very large vehicle bundle more than themed playlist access |
| Ubisoft+ Premium Edition | Base game, Car Pack with 60 vehicles and the three Fitted packs | Players obtaining the listed Premium Edition through Ubisoft’s subscription offering; confirm the current terms before subscribing |
| Ultimate Year 3 | Base game, Year 1 Pass, Year 2 Pass, Year 3 Pass, Chase Squad and Fitted Ultimate Pack; Ubisoft says this unlocks up to 68 vehicles | Players who want the broadest listed pass bundle and accept that “up to 68” is a bundle claim rather than a separately verified guaranteed count in every circumstance |
Standard Edition
Standard is the cleanest choice when you are unsure whether you will keep playing. It gives you the base game without charging for themed packs or vehicle collections you may never use. Compare its local price with a discounted Deluxe or Headliners listing, because a sale can change the value equation.
Deluxe Edition
Deluxe adds the Fitted, Fitted Jungle and Fitted Rainbow packs. Ubisoft Store’s Deluxe page also describes a Fitted Ultimate Pack containing a Porsche 718 Spyder 2021 Fitted Edition, a Honda Civic Type R 2021 Fitted Edition and customization items. Bundle labels and contents may differ by region, so confirm whether that Ultimate Pack is included in the exact Deluxe listing you are viewing rather than assuming every storefront uses the same package.
Headliners Edition
Headliners is content-led rather than simply vehicle-led. It combines three themed strands: Chase Squad, RC Frenzy and the Tomb Raider pack. The listed counts are seven vehicles for Chase Squad, four for RC Frenzy and five for the Tomb Raider pack. It also adds Open World Chases, the RC Frenzy Playlist, the Tomb Raider: Secrets of Niʻihau Playlist and Niʻihau Island, along with the three Fitted packs. Choose it when those activities are the reason you are buying; do not pay extra merely because “Headliners” sounds more complete.
Grand Garage and Ubisoft+ Premium
Both listings include the base game, a Car Pack with 60 vehicles and the three Fitted packs. Their practical difference is how you obtain them: Grand Garage is a purchase edition, while Ubisoft+ Premium is tied to Ubisoft’s subscription offering. Check current subscription terms, account access and regional availability before treating the two as interchangeable ownership options.

Ultimate Year 3 Edition
The Ubisoft Store lists the base game, Year 1 Pass, Year 2 Pass, Year 3 Pass, Chase Squad and Fitted Ultimate Pack, and advertises access to up to 68 vehicles. “Up to 68 vehicles” is Ubisoft’s description of the bundle; it is not an independently verified promise that every buyer receives an identical, fixed number under all regional or promotional conditions. Read the itemized contents in your store listing.
How to choose an edition without overpaying
- Write down the content you actually want. Decide whether your priority is the core game, themed playlists, a large vehicle collection, passes, or customization items.
- Open the full contents panel. Do not rely on the short store title. Look for each pack, playlist, pass and vehicle count, including region-specific wording.
- Record the final local price. Include taxes, delivery for a physical copy and any active discount. Ubisoft’s official pages do not establish one stable cross-region price comparison.
- Compare against the Standard price. The upgrade premium is the amount you are paying for additional content. If you would not buy that content separately, the premium is not value.
- Check your platform choice. Physical and digital formats can have different stock, storage and refund rules, while every format remains subject to the online requirement.
- For consoles, budget the multiplayer service separately. The game purchase and the platform subscription are distinct costs.
- For PC, verify hardware before checkout. Meeting the minimum specification is a prerequisite, not a guarantee of high settings or 60 frames per second.
Do you need PS Plus or Game Pass to play?
Ubisoft Help says an active PlayStation Plus subscription or Xbox Game Pass subscription is required for console multiplayer. This condition is separate from the game’s permanent internet requirement: being online does not itself provide the console service subscription.
If you only intend to drive activities that do not use console multiplayer features, check the current platform policy and the game’s own mode requirements before cancelling a subscription. Policies and plan names can change, and the relevant requirement is determined by the platform and the online feature you are trying to use.

Ubisoft’s free-trial information allows up to five hours of play. The listed platforms are Epic Games Launcher, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Ubisoft Connect PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Trial progress is saved and can be resumed on cross-progression-compatible platforms.
Switch 2 is not included in that cited platform list. Treat the absence as “not established,” not as proof that a Switch 2 trial can never appear. Check a current Nintendo or Ubisoft listing if you are considering the Switch 2 version specifically.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
The trial is most useful for answering practical questions that specifications cannot: whether the driving model feels right to you, whether your connection is stable in your normal play space, whether the camera and controls are comfortable, and whether your PC maintains acceptable performance. Use the available hours deliberately rather than spending them only in menus.
PC requirements and what they mean
Ubisoft Help’s current minimum specification targets 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second. It calls for the following:
| Component | Minimum listed requirement | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 64-bit | Confirm that Windows is 64-bit and fully updated |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-4460, or better | Compare your exact CPU model, not only the brand or product family |
| Memory | 8 GB dual-channel RAM | Check capacity and whether the modules run in dual-channel mode |
| Graphics | AMD Radeon RX 480 8 GB or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, or better | Verify the dedicated GPU model and video-memory capacity |
| Storage | 79 GB available; SSD recommended | Leave more free space than the stated install size for updates and system overhead |
The same support page provides separate recommended configurations for 1080p, 1440p and 2160p at 60 frames per second, but the recommended component values are not reproduced in the listing above. Check Ubisoft’s current PC Support page against your exact hardware before purchase, especially if you expect 1440p or 4K at 60 fps.
Minimum hardware is a floor for launch and playability at the stated target, not a promise of maximum graphics quality. Laptop GPUs can use names similar to desktop parts while performing differently, and an almost-full SSD can cause update problems even when the initial installation technically fits.
Platform and format trade-offs
PlayStation and Xbox
Console versions simplify hardware decisions, but they add the platform-service question for multiplayer. Decide whether you already maintain the relevant subscription and include that recurring cost in your ownership budget. Also compare the price of a physical copy with a digital sale, taking into account resale rules and the fact that neither format permits offline play.
PC
PC offers adjustable resolution and graphics settings and can use either Epic Games Launcher or Ubisoft Connect PC for the listed trial. The trade-off is responsibility for meeting the CPU, GPU, RAM and storage requirements, plus maintaining drivers and free disk space.
Switch 2
Switch 2 is the newest listed platform, with both physical retail and eShop formats announced for October 8, 2026. It is attractive if portable or Nintendo hardware access is your priority, but the online requirement remains decisive and the cited five-hour trial list does not include it.

- Confirm your platform and whether you want physical or digital distribution.
- Verify that your internet connection is reliable where you will play.
- On console, check the current multiplayer subscription requirement for your intended modes.
- On PC, compare your machine with Windows 10 64-bit, CPU, GPU, RAM and 79 GB storage requirements.
- Read the complete regional edition contents, including passes, playlists, vehicle counts and cosmetics.
- Compare the final checkout price, including tax, delivery or subscription cost.
- If an eligible platform offers the trial, use up to five hours to test handling, performance and connection stability before committing.
- Keep your receipt and note the platform account that receives progression, especially if you may use cross-progression-compatible systems later.
Who should buy The Crew Motorfest?
- Open-world racing fans: You want free-roaming driving and a broad selection of activities rather than a short, isolated campaign.
- Connected-service players: You are comfortable with a game that authenticates online every time you play.
- Content-focused buyers: You have identified a specific Headliners playlist, vehicle pack or pass bundle that justifies the edition premium.
- Switch 2 owners: You want the Nintendo version and accept that the physical release is still online-only.
- PC players with suitable hardware: Your system meets the minimum specification and you have enough SSD capacity for the install and updates.
Who should skip it?
- Offline-first players: Permanent connectivity is a deal-breaker.
- Players with unreliable internet: Frequent outages or restrictive networks can prevent access even when the software is installed.
- Budget buyers seeking only a base game: Do not pay for a larger edition unless its listed content is part of your plan.
- Console players unwilling to maintain the required multiplayer subscription: The game purchase does not replace that service.
- PC owners below the minimum specification: Buying first and hoping for acceptable performance is a poor gamble.
Bottom-line buying decision
Buy the Standard Edition when you want to enter Motorfest at the lowest commitment and are unsure which add-ons matter. Choose Deluxe for its Fitted content only after confirming the regional bundle, Headliners when its three themed strands and 16 listed vehicles are the attraction, Grand Garage or Ubisoft+ Premium when a 60-vehicle pack is your priority, and Ultimate Year 3 when the three passes and broader bundle match your plans. Whichever route you choose, make the permanent internet requirement, console subscription cost and local checkout price part of the decision before you pay.
