1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe Cooler Master HAF II 500 is a large ATX mid-tower designed around two 220 mm front intake fans, with a 180 mm rear fan included. Its generous listed GPU and CPU-cooler clearances and adjustable fan-and-radiator mounting give builders room to plan a substantial system. But the available independent preview reported no measured cooling results, so the case’s airflow design should not be mistaken for proof that it runs cooler or quieter than alternatives.
What the HAF II 500 includes
Cooler Master lists the HAF II 500 at 557 × 262 × 548 mm including protrusions, with a volume of 79.98 L. It has eight expansion slots and supports Mini-ITX, Mini-DTX, Micro-ATX, ATX, CEB, and E-ATX motherboards up to 310 mm wide; the larger formats use an ATX-compatible standoff pattern. See the official HAF II 500 specifications for the full compatibility details.

The default fan setup is two 220 × 220 × 40 mm Mighty40 F220 fans at the front and one 180 × 180 × 40 mm Mighty40 V180 fan at the rear. Cooler Master rates the F220 at up to 203.8 CFM airflow, 3.1 mmH₂O pressure, and 36 dB(A) maximum noise at 1 m; the V180 is rated up to 161.5 CFM, 4.0 mmH₂O, and 34 dB(A) maximum noise at 1 m. These are manufacturer specifications for the individual fans—not whole-case measurements or a guarantee of noise and temperatures in a particular PC.
Will your GPU, CPU cooler, and PSU fit?
| Component | Listed clearance or condition |
|---|---|
| Graphics card | Up to 430 mm with the included front fans installed |
| CPU cooler | 221 mm for Intel; 220 mm for AMD |
| Power supply | Up to 150 mm in north-south orientation or 210 mm in east-west orientation |
These are the case maker’s listed limits. Check your exact component dimensions and installation orientation before buying, especially if your GPU or PSU is near the stated maximum or your cooling layout will differ from the default.
#1 Best Overall
- Oversized Mighty40 cooling system with two 220 x 40 mm front intake fans and one 180 x 40 mm rear exhaust fan.
- Low airflow resistance design uses large front and rear ventilation openings to improve airflow throughput.
- Split-level cable management optimizes routing space and creates room for oversized rear exhaust cooling.
- MasterRail mounting system supports multiple fan and radiator sizes at the front and top of the case.
- Dual-Mode GPU Holder clamps a single GPU for added stability or supports two GPUs up to 3.6 slots (72 mm) thick each.
How can you configure the fans and radiators?
Fan positions
- Top: three 120 or 140 mm fans, or two 160 or 180 mm fans.
- Front: the stock layout uses two 220 mm fans. With MasterRail, the front can instead take three 120 or 140 mm fans, or two 160 or 180 mm fans.
- Rear: one 180 mm fan.
Cooler Master describes a divided lower intake intended to direct air toward the GPU. Tom’s Hardware’s June 2, 2026 preview also described a curved baffle that directs most of the lower-fan airflow toward the graphics card and some toward the PSU chamber. These are descriptions of the design and airflow path, not measured evidence of lower GPU temperatures.
Radiator fit
The listed radiator support includes 240, 280, and 360-120 mm options at the top, and those sizes at the front when using MasterRail. A 360-180 mm arrangement is also listed conditionally. Fit depends on adjacent components and radiator-and-fan thickness, so a stated radiator size does not mean every radiator of that size will fit every build.

The Cooler Master EU store listing gives combined fan-and-radiator thickness limits of 58 mm for one illustrated arrangement and 72 mm for another, with the airflow divider removed for the latter. Treat these as configuration-specific limits, not universal clearances; confirm your intended layout against the manufacturer’s current diagrams and component dimensions.

Does the HAF II 500 have proven cooling or noise results?
Not in the published independent coverage cited here. Tom’s Hardware’s June 2, 2026 preview explicitly said it had no cooling metrics and that lab testing would follow once the case was available. The authors reported feeling airflow behind the case from a few feet away and not hearing it over the crowd at Computex, but that is an event-floor impression, not a controlled acoustic or thermal test. Read the Tom’s Hardware preview with that limitation in mind.

Cooler Master’s fan airflow, pressure, and noise figures describe the supplied fans under the manufacturer’s specifications; they do not establish system temperatures, sound levels, or a win over another case. A meaningful comparison would need controlled testing with disclosed hardware, ambient conditions, workloads, fan settings, noise measurement method, competing cases, and repeatability.
