No. The MFC-J1360DW’s automatic duplex feature is for printing. Brother specifies that duplex scanning and duplex copying are not supported, and the ADF is single-sided. To scan or copy a two-sided original, you must handle the pages manually rather than feed both sides automatically. How fast is it, and what do the speed figures mean?
Brother’s 2025 specification sheet lists maximum simplex print speeds of up to 16 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 9 ppm in color. It gives first-page times of about 6.2 seconds for black and 9.6 seconds for color. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent real-world measurements; actual throughput depends on the document, settings, and workflow. [c2]
For scanning, Brother lists speeds of up to 17 images per minute (ipm) in black and 7 ipm in color. Treat those as specifications rather than a promise for every job: scan speed depends on the document and settings. [c2]

Is it suitable for your monthly workload?
Brother recommends a monthly print volume of 50 to 1,000 pages. That range is manufacturer guidance for planning, not an independent endurance test or a guarantee of a particular lifespan. If you expect to print regularly above that range, compare models using their recommended volumes rather than relying on maximum-duty-cycle claims. [c2]
The tray’s 150-sheet capacity and the ADF’s 20-sheet capacity suit modest batches, but the single-sided feeder adds manual work when originals have two sides. Consider both capacities and the type of documents you handle—not just the printer’s maximum speed—when deciding whether it fits your routine. [c1]

Which ink does the US MFC-J1360DW use?
Brother identifies LC501 as the genuine ink family it recommends for the US MFC-J1360DW. The US product page lists starter cartridges in the box with stated yields of 200 pages for each color and black. Those are starter-cartridge figures; the available specification excerpts show inconsistent black-cartridge yield information, so they do not establish a dependable replacement-cartridge yield or cost per page. Do not assume that a similarly named printer sold in another country uses the same cartridges. What do independent reviews establish?
RTINGS identifies the MFC-J1360DW as a budget home-use inkjet all-in-one. Its review page is dated March 12, 2026, and shows a test-bench update of September 25, 2026. The available review passage notes four cartridges, Wi-Fi and USB, AirPrint and Mopria, and an ADF without duplex scanning.
