What to do after the speaker gets wet
The right care depends on what the speaker contacted. Fresh water, salt water and chlorinated pool water are not interchangeable cleaning situations: Bose specifically instructs users to rinse away salt or chlorinated water with fresh water. - Resume use only when it is thoroughly dry. If you are unsure whether the connector or speaker is dry, continue waiting rather than testing it by plugging it in.
How to clean the speaker and charging port
For routine cleaning of the larger exterior surfaces, Bose recommends a soft cloth and advises against detergents. That keeps the cleaning method gentle and avoids introducing a cleaning product Bose does not recommend.

If debris is in the charging port or another part, Bose says it can be gently rinsed away with fresh water or removed with compressed air. Whichever method you use, the connector must be completely dry before charging. Avoid poking into the port with an object or applying force; the manufacturer’s stated options are a gentle rinse or compressed air.
For salt or chlorinated water specifically, use a gentle fresh-water rinse after exposure, then allow the speaker to dry thoroughly. Do not substitute detergent or assume that a quick wipe alone removes residue from the areas Bose says to rinse.
