Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

It is a promising choice for people who want a roomy display without a heavy bag, but the right buy depends on the exact screen and memory configuration, battery expectations, and whether your essential apps run well on Windows on Arm.
What is the Zenbook A16, and what makes it different?
ASUS announced the UX3607 on January 7, 2026. Its flagship configuration uses an 18-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor and an NPU rated at 80 TOPS. ASUS positions the laptop for productivity and creative work; those are manufacturer claims, not a guarantee that every specialist application or workflow will perform as needed. ASUS’s launch announcement describes its design philosophy as “see more, carry less.”

The headline combination is the size and weight: ASUS claims 1.2kg for the chassis, despite the 16-inch display. That figure is a manufacturer specification, not a measured weight for every regional SKU. It is a useful portability signal, but check the listing for the exact configuration you plan to buy.

The page lists 32GB or 48GB of memory and SSD options including 512GB and 1TB, with capacities dependent on configuration. These are not necessarily available together in every market. If you need a particular screen resolution, touch input, memory capacity, or storage size, confirm it on the seller’s specification sheet rather than relying on a general A16 description.
How light is it, and what ports does it have?
ASUS’s claimed weight is 1.2kg. On the US specification page, the listed connections are two USB4 Gen 3 Type-C ports with display and power-delivery support, one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, HDMI 2.1 TMDS, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. The same page lists a 70Wh battery and a 130W USB-C AC adapter for the configurations shown. Check ASUS’s regional specifications for the SKU you are considering.
Windows Central reported a full-size SD-card reader on its reviewed unit. Because that observation is tied to a tested model, do not assume the reader is present on every regional configuration without checking the listing. Windows Central’s review also notes that ASUS supplied its review units.

How long does the Zenbook A16 battery last?
ASUS advertises more than 21 hours, but that is a manufacturer claim, not a promised everyday runtime. Independent results vary because the publications used different playback tests:
| Source and test | Reported result | Conditions or qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Windows Central, PCMark 10 local-video playback | 20 hours 30 minutes | Local video test on its reviewed machines; not a general-use guarantee. |
| Windows Central, 4K YouTube streaming | 14 hours 13 minutes | Continuous playback, screen at about 200 nits, volume at 10%, and energy-saving mode off. |
| TechRadar, movie-playback test | 24 hours | Result under TechRadar’s test method; not directly comparable to the other protocols. |
Windows Central estimated roughly 10–16 hours for its usual workflow, a reviewer estimate rather than a controlled result applicable to all owners. Display brightness and refresh rate, workload, network use, and power settings all affect runtime. Windows Central’s test details and TechRadar’s review provide context for their separate results; the figures should not be averaged into one expected battery life.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can the Zenbook A16 run your apps and games?
The A16 runs Windows on Arm, so compatibility deserves the same attention as processor speed. ASUS’s high-level productivity and creative positioning does not establish support for every application, plug-in, peripheral driver, or game you rely on. Confirm compatibility for critical software with its developer, especially if your work depends on specialist tools or accessories.

Gaming support also needs a title-by-title check. PC Gamer reported that F1 2024 displayed an incompatibility message related to ARM processors during its review. That is evidence about one game at one point in time—not proof that all games fail, or that the game’s current status is unchanged. PC Gamer’s review records that specific warning.
Windows Central reported positive benchmark comparisons from its testing, but benchmark results do not settle whether your own apps are compatible or whether graphics performance meets your needs. Treat performance claims as workload-specific, and verify current support for anything essential before purchase.
Is the Zenbook A16 worth buying?
Consider it if a genuinely light 16-inch Windows laptop is your priority and you can select the screen and memory configuration you want. The 3K 120Hz OLED options are the ones to inspect if resolution and refresh rate matter; the WUXGA 60Hz option is a distinct, lower-resolution choice. Check actual regional availability rather than assuming every listed configuration is sold in your market.
- It may suit you if you want a large OLED display in a chassis ASUS claims weighs 1.2kg, and your main applications are confirmed to work on Windows on Arm.
- Compare carefully if your purchase depends on a specific panel, touch support, memory, storage, or an SD reader; verify those details for the exact SKU.
- Look elsewhere or investigate first if a must-have game, specialist app, plug-in, or device has uncertain Arm support, or if you need a particular sustained graphics capability that published general benchmarks do not establish.
Price and stock are time- and market-dependent. Tom’s Guide reported a $100 increase to $1,699 in its review context, but that historical figure is not a current price quote. Check the seller’s live price, region, included configuration, and return terms before deciding. Tom’s Guide’s review provides that dated pricing context.
