But the $96 offer in the headline is historical, not a verified current price: the May 2026 deal was marked expired.
What is the Anker A1695?
PCWorld identified the product as Anker model A1695, a 25,000mAh laptop power bank. Its deal coverage describes two integrated USB-C cables, plus separate USB-C and USB-A ports, so it can connect to devices without requiring a cable for every port. The reports say it can charge up to four devices at once. PCWorld’s May 22, 2026 report and 9to5Toys’ May 21, 2026 report describe these features.

Can the A1695 charge a laptop?
PCWorld reports up to 100W from a USB-C connection when that connection is used alone, which is the relevant figure for evaluating a single-device laptop setup. That does not mean every laptop will charge at its preferred rate: PCWorld cautions that some high-end gaming laptops may need more power than this bank supplies. Check your laptop’s charger rating and USB-C charging support before relying on it as a replacement power source. PCWorld’s coverage does not establish compatibility with every laptop model.

The two figures refer to different conditions, not competing descriptions of one port. PCWorld gives up to 100W for a USB-C connection used alone; 9to5Toys reports 165W combined output across active ports. Combined output is shared among connected devices, so it should not be read as 165W available from one USB-C port. The cited reports do not specify the allocation for every multi-device combination.

Are the built-in cables useful?
The integrated USB-C cables reduce the number of separate charging cables you need to carry, while the additional USB-C and USB-A ports provide options for other wired devices. That convenience is most valuable when you regularly charge several devices or want a power bank ready to use without packing a separate cable. The built-in connections do not remove the need to check that your device accepts USB-C charging and the power level available in your chosen setup.
Is it portable enough to carry every day?
Capacity and multiple connections come with a size trade-off. PCWorld characterizes the A1695 as bulky, so it may be less appealing if you want a small, light everyday battery. The deal reports do not provide a weight figure in the cited material, so compare the product’s current listing dimensions and weight against the space and load you are willing to carry rather than assuming it is compact.

Is the Anker A1695 worth $96?
At a genuinely available price near $96, it is most compelling for someone who needs substantial portable capacity, built-in USB-C cables, and the ability to charge multiple devices—not simply a small phone backup battery. Whether it suits a laptop depends on that laptop’s USB-C charging requirements, particularly for power-hungry gaming models. The available reports do not compare it directly with competing power banks, so they cannot establish that $96 is the best value in the category.
Is the $96 deal still available?
Do not assume so. PCWorld reported a $96 Amazon offer in April and again in May 2026; 9to5Toys listed a May 21, 2026 price of $95.99 and marked that offer expired. Those dated deal reports establish past promotional prices only, not today’s price or stock. Check the live retailer listing for the current amount and availability before buying.
