The exact $140-off claim is not confirmed. ASUS’s U.S. deals page surfaced a Vivobook 16 M1605 family offer at $449.99 versus $599.99—a $150 difference—but warns that the displayed price may not apply to the specifications shown. It does not identify a 16GB U.S. SKU. ASUS documents a 16GB M1605 configuration in Japan, but that listing does not establish that it is the U.S. sale model.
Is the $140 discount real?
It cannot be verified from the available ASUS U.S. listing. ASUS shows the Vivobook 16 M1605 family at $449.99 compared with $599.99, a displayed $150 difference—not $140. The page also cautions that its price may not refer to the specifications displayed, so those figures do not confirm the price of a particular 16GB configuration. See ASUS’s U.S. deals page.

The exact U.S. retailer, SKU, current price, and reference price behind the $140 headline remain unidentified. Treat that discount as unverified rather than assuming the family-level offer applies to a 16GB laptop.

That is evidence for a specific Japanese-market configuration, not proof that the U.S. deal is for the same SKU or specification. The U.S. M1605 deals page gives family-level maximums, including up to an AMD Ryzen 7 7730U and up to a 1TB SSD; those maxima should not be read as the configuration of the listed offer.
How do M1605 and F1605 differ?
Vivobook 16 is a product name used across distinct model families. ASUS’s U.S. pages list M1605 as an AMD family and F1605 as a separate Intel family. ASUS describes the F1605 family as offering up to a 13th-generation Intel Core i9, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to a 1TB SSD. These are family-level maximums, not specifications confirmed for a particular sale unit. Do not combine F1605’s Intel specifications with M1605’s AMD specifications. See ASUS’s F1605 product page.

What 16GB tells you—and what it does not
Capacity is one specification to compare when choosing between an 8GB and 16GB laptop, but these listings do not provide a controlled performance comparison. They do not establish a specific speed improvement, nor do they prove that 16GB guarantees a particular useful lifespan. Check the exact SKU’s memory arrangement: the Japanese M1605NAQ-R7165SI listing specifies 8GB onboard plus 8GB SO-DIMM, but that detail should not be generalized to other M1605 or F1605 configurations.
Quick Recap
What to verify before buying
- Exact model number: Confirm the retailer’s full SKU, not just “Vivobook 16” or “M1605.”
- Memory: Verify that the sale configuration has 16GB and check how that memory is installed.
- Price and discount: Compare the live price and reference price for that same SKU; a family-level deal is not confirmation of a configuration-specific markdown.
- Other specifications: Check the processor, storage, and display resolution on the product listing rather than relying on family-level “up to” specifications.
- Availability and seller: Confirm that the exact configuration is in stock and identify the market and seller before ordering.
