Can you access SpinQuest from Massachusetts?
According to SpinQuest’s published materials, yes. The company’s official sweepstakes rules name Social Gaming Room LLC as the sponsor and promoter, describe Sweep Coins as entries for promotional play that may be redeemed for prizes, and omit Massachusetts from the listed excluded states. The Help Center article “Where is SpinQuest available?”, dated July 20, 2026, also omits Massachusetts from its list of states where the service is unavailable.

Those are SpinQuest’s own access statements, not a finding by Massachusetts regulators. The company’s rules say participation is void where prohibited or restricted by law and put the responsibility on participants to determine whether play is lawful where they live. The rules and Help Center also differ in their excluded-state lists: for example, California appears in the Help Center list but not in the rules’ promotional eligibility list. Check the current terms and location restrictions before relying on either list.
Does Massachusetts approve or license SpinQuest?
The available sources do not establish that Massachusetts has licensed or specifically approved SpinQuest, or that a court has determined its current model lawful in the state. A June 2026 consumer advisory from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, Massachusetts Gaming Commission, and State Lottery Commission says, “Operators must be licensed or registered to lawfully operate in the Commonwealth.” That is general state guidance, not a SpinQuest-specific order or finding.

Massachusetts law and official guidance address games of chance and sweepstakes, but applying them to a particular service depends on its actual design and operation. SpinQuest’s description of its Sweep Coins and promotional play does not, by itself, settle that legal question.

Lottery and sweepstakes practices
The Massachusetts Attorney General’s gaming laws and regulations guidance describes 940 CMR 30.00 as prohibiting unfair or deceptive practices used to conceal a lottery, sweepstakes, or similar game of chance not sanctioned by state law or regulation. The guidance discusses whether goods or services are being sold as a pretense for a game of chance, including the relationship between what is sold and the players, the transaction’s main purpose, and whether free play is genuinely available and practically accessible.

Electronic sweepstakes displays
Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 271, Section 5B addresses knowingly operating, or possessing with intent to operate, an electronic machine or device to conduct or promote a sweepstakes through an entertaining display, including entry or prize reveal. The statute also identifies exceptions for specified lawful activities, including certain state lottery, pari-mutuel, bingo, charitable gaming, and other regulated activity. Its wording should not be read as establishing that every online sweepstakes game falls within the section, or that it applies to SpinQuest without a case-specific determination.
What are the practical risks of relying on availability?
The June 2026 state consumer advisory warns that unlicensed gaming sites may not provide state-law consumer safeguards and may expose users to fraud, identity theft, financial loss, or a failure or refusal to pay winnings. A service appearing accessible in Massachusetts does not resolve those risks or establish that the state regulates the service.
