What Pokémon has announced for its 30th anniversary
The Pokémon franchise reaches its 30th anniversary on February 27, 2026, marking 30 years since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green were released in Japan, according to Pokémon’s official Japanese announcement.

The official Booster Bundle listing says the expansion features Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, but that does not mean a particular pack or bundle will contain either card. Pokémon’s Mewtwo retrospective describes the accessories as separate products; they are not a free Mewtwo offer.

Anniversary events are not a Mewtwo giveaway
Pokémon’s wider anniversary campaign also includes a Pokémon GO photography feature and plans for in-person Pokémon Day Out and Night Out experiences. Those campaign announcements do not establish a free Mewtwo distribution. For any online claim about a giveaway, look for an official Pokémon announcement that specifies the eligible game or product, region, dates, and how to claim it.
