The official site now presents the live game simply as “Overwatch,” but the cost model remains the same free-to-play model readers associate with Overwatch 2. Store pages can use different naming during the transition, so look for the free-to-play listing rather than assuming a paid sequel is required.

These figures are useful illustrations of the kinds of offers that can appear, but they are not universal Overwatch prices. They came from a Steam storefront listing for that season. A console store may show a different amount, and a later season may replace or reprice the offer. Local taxes, currency conversion, and platform-specific pricing can also change the amount charged.

Are new heroes locked behind the Battle Pass?
Blizzard changed the hero-access model. Its developer update says heroes no longer need to be unlocked through the Battle Pass. That means a player should not assume that buying Premium is the only route to a newly released hero.
The same update says that, beginning with Season 10, players earn coins through both the free and premium Battle Pass tracks. This gives the free track a currency-earning role in addition to its other seasonal rewards. The exact number of coins and the current reward layout can vary by season, so inspect the track shown in your client rather than relying on an older screenshot or guide.
Hero access and cosmetic access are separate questions. A shop skin, bundle, or Premium pass can change how your profile looks and what rewards you collect, but those purchases are not the base-game admission fee.
