What has been reported about the new Uncharted game?
MP1st, citing unnamed sources familiar with the situation, reported that Naughty Dog is developing an all-new Uncharted game. The outlet says the project is a new game rather than a remake, and names Shaun Escayg—director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy—as its director. Neither detail has been confirmed by Naughty Dog in the official material reviewed.

GamesRadar+ followed up on October 1, 2026, describing the story as a report and noting corroboration by NateTheHate. That follow-up still treats the project and Drake’s role as unconfirmed. Multiple reports are not the same as an announcement from Naughty Dog or PlayStation.

Will Nathan Drake be in the game, and will he be playable?
According to MP1st, Drake appears “in some form.” The report says it could not determine whether he is the protagonist, a side character, or a cameo; GamesRadar+ likewise says his exact role is unclear. So the available reporting supports only the possibility that he appears—not that he leads the story or is playable.

Is it a remake, and when could it release?
MP1st describes the project as an all-new game, not a remake. The same outlet says it would follow Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet in Naughty Dog’s reported slate, with The Last of Us Part III after it. These are reported plans, not an official schedule, and MP1st notes that plans can change. No confirmed release date or announcement window is available.

How to catch up on Uncharted while you wait
If you want to revisit the existing games, PlayStation’s 2021 announcement says Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection bundles Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and was announced for PS5 and PC. The collection is an existing way to play those two adventures; it is not the reported new game. Check your local store for current platform availability and edition details.
