PC Gamer’s review says that in both solo and co-op, each player chooses two heroes and can switch between them. For a solo player, that means combat is built around a small tag team rather than controlling only one hero throughout a fight. It may appeal if you enjoy changing characters as the action unfolds.

In practical terms, consider buying for the core beat ’em up and the pleasure of trying different hero pairings, not on the assumption that the game will provide a lengthy progression grind. The cited review is a critical assessment, not a guarantee of how much an individual player will replay it.

Can you play co-op, and what kind?
Dotemu lists local and online multiplayer with drop-in/drop-out play on its game page. Nintendo’s store listing for the Nintendo version specifies online co-op, cross-platform play, and play on one console. Check the listing for the exact platform and edition you plan to buy, since platform-specific details matter.
