LEGO’s US catalog lists it at $129.99, but that is a reference price—not confirmation of a Prime Day offer or a record-low price. LEGO’s US page showed the set as sold out, while its Netherlands page labeled it “Retiring soon”; neither establishes a US retirement date.
What is LEGO set 71438?
LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi (71438) is a collectible display model inspired by the classic game, rather than a conventional interactive Mario play set. Nintendo announced the model at San Diego Comic-Con; Nintendo’s announcement provides that context.

The January 2025 US LEGO retail catalog lists 1,215 pieces, an age recommendation of 18+, and a finished size of over 15.5 inches high, 10 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. Its $129.99 price is the catalog/list-price reference, not a verified current selling price. See the January 2025 LEGO US catalog for those specifications.
What moves on the model?
Two manual controls animate the display. Turning the handle in the base makes Yoshi run with Mario on his back; turning the dial behind Yoshi’s head makes his tongue move in and out. These are mechanical display features, not electronic gameplay.

What is the lowest price for LEGO 71438?
The confirmed US reference in the January 2025 catalog is $129.99. The available sources do not verify a live Amazon Prime Day checkout price or a US price-history record, so they cannot establish that a Prime Day offer is the set’s lowest price ever. Compare any deal with the $129.99 catalog figure and check the final price at checkout before treating it as a discount.
