Whether that makes it “pay to win” depends on your goal. A player who wants to build a march, collect immortals, join alliance activities, and compete casually can make meaningful progress without paying. A player targeting the top of a competitive server is more likely to encounter advantages that money can buy, although the available game documentation does not measure the size of that advantage or prove that free players cannot reach a particular level.
The practical answer is therefore pay to advance, with pay-to-win pressure in high-end competition rather than a proven absolute pay-to-win verdict. You can remain free-to-play by choosing a coherent early team, joining an active alliance, treating Gems as a limited planning resource, and using free event rewards deliberately.

What “pay to win” means in Infinity Kingdom
“Pay to win” is not a single in-game rule. It is a question about how much a player’s spending changes outcomes compared with similar effort from a non-spender. Three different tests are useful:

- Pay to advance: purchases shorten upgrade timers, add resources, or unlock progression attempts that are also available through play.
- Pay to win: spending creates a decisive advantage in the competitive outcome a player cares about, such as winning server rankings or player-versus-player clashes.
The documented systems in Infinity Kingdom fit the second category clearly. The game is listed as free to play with in-app purchases, and its VIP system connects VIP points with Gem purchases or in-game packs. An older official community guide also described daily login and Gem spending as ways to earn VIP points, alongside rank buffs and milestone rewards. Those mechanics let spending compress the time needed to reach benefits.

That evidence does not establish the third category numerically. There is no verified comparison showing how many days, dollars, or power points separate a free player from a spender at a named milestone. Nor is there evidence that a free account is barred from normal progression. The fairest conclusion is that spending can improve speed and flexibility, while the competitive effect varies with server age, alliance strength, player activity, and the goal you set.
How Infinity Kingdom’s monetization affects progression
Free-to-play entry with optional purchases
The Steam listing describes Infinity Kingdom as free to play and includes in-app purchases. You can install and play without buying a starter pack or subscription. Optional purchases are integrated into progression systems rather than being required at account creation.
VIP points and paid routes
The official FAQ, dated February 11, 2025, states that VIP points can be obtained by purchasing Gems or in-game packs. A September 24, 2022 official community guide adds daily login and Gem spending as sources and describes VIP ranks with buffs and milestone rewards. The older guide highlights VIP 10 as a notable milestone, but its reward values and thresholds should not be treated as current specifications. Interfaces, costs, and rewards can change when the game is updated.

Gems that could be saved for a Market refresh, an event objective, or another current use may instead be spent on a VIP route. A paying player can obtain VIP points immediately through a purchase and can preserve earned Gems for other uses. That is a real convenience and acceleration advantage even when every underlying activity remains available to non-spenders.
Time-limited paid options
Event design can put free and paid rewards on parallel tracks. An official forum guide published October 12, 2026 describes the seven-day Gilded Club event, scheduled through October 18, with mission-based progression, free rewards, and paid options such as passes or bundles. This is a current example of optional spending alongside free activity, not a permanent specification for every event. Treat each event’s rules, dates, and reward thresholds as temporary and read the in-game panel before planning around it.

Can you progress in Infinity Kingdom without spending?
Yes. The available guides describe free activities and systems that support account growth, although they do not promise a particular ranking or timetable. Free progression is most sustainable when you concentrate resources instead of trying to develop every element and immortal at once.
Start with a coherent march
An official starter guide recommends Water or Lightning for free-to-play beginners. This is an older guide recommendation, not a current tier-list guarantee. Its value is the principle: select a compatible starting direction so that early resources improve a usable march rather than being scattered across unrelated heroes and elements. Check the current game’s abilities, balance changes, and available immortals before committing heavily.

If a later patch changes the relative strength of an element, you can adapt after establishing a foundation; you do not need to chase every new option on day one.
Join an active alliance early
The starter guide describes alliance technology, alliance shops, city rewards, rallies, and garrisons as shared sources of support and progress. These systems are especially valuable to a non-spender because they add activity-based benefits that are not purchased simply by opening the shop. An active alliance can also provide coordination, advice, and help with content that is inefficient to attempt alone.
Choose an alliance based on activity and fit rather than its advertised power alone. Look for regular participation in rallies and city activities, a functioning chat or announcement channel, and expectations you can meet. A technically strong alliance that never coordinates may provide less practical value than a slightly smaller group that completes shared objectives consistently.

Use daily activity as your spending substitute
The VIP guide identifies daily login as one route to VIP points. Even when you never buy a pack, logging in regularly helps you collect the free currencies, mission progress, and event opportunities that the game makes available. Set a routine around the game’s reset time so that you do not miss a login reward or a short event mission. Do not assume that a missed day can always be recovered; event schedules and catch-up rules vary.
Gem management for a free account
Gems are both a progression currency and a potential bridge into paid systems. The VIP guide describes Gem spending as a way to earn VIP points, while the older Market guide says Gems may be involved in some fragment purchases or refreshes. Because the guides date from 2022 and the game is updated, do not carry over their old costs or thresholds. Use them to understand the types of decisions you may face, then confirm the current price in your own Market and VIP screens.
Create a priority order
- Define the next account goal. Decide whether you are trying to improve your main march, finish an event mission, or obtain a specific immortal fragment.
- Check the current cost. Open the relevant VIP, Market, or event panel and record the Gem amount, refresh cost, and expiration time shown now.
- Protect a reserve. Keep enough Gems for a high-value opportunity or an alliance-related need rather than spending down to zero on a small immediate gain.
- Compare guaranteed value with a chance. A known fragment or reward can be easier to evaluate than a random chest. Read the odds and contents where the game displays them.
- Reassess after each event. A temporary discount or milestone can change the best use of Gems for a few days, but it should not permanently replace your core plan.
Do not copy old thresholds
Older guides may list a specific VIP milestone, Market access point, or Gem amount. The Market guide, published April 24, 2022, describes access at Castle level 7 and the use of immortal fragments to develop immortals. That is useful context for how the system was presented, but availability and prices can change. Confirm whether your current account shows the same Castle requirement and what each fragment or refresh costs before acting.
Using the Market and immortal fragments
The Market is described as a route to immortal fragments. Fragments can support the development of immortals, and some purchases or refreshes may involve Gems. This creates a trade-off for free players: a Market opportunity can advance a chosen march, but repeated refreshes can consume the same currency you might need for VIP-related activity or a limited event.
A disciplined Market routine
- Open the Market after your main daily tasks so you know how many Gems remain available.
- Prefer fragments that complete or materially improve the march you actually use.
- Calculate the total cost of a refresh before buying the first item; a low initial price can become expensive through repeated refreshes.
- Stop when the next purchase is a marginal upgrade rather than a needed piece of your plan.
- Check the current Castle requirement and item rotation in-game, because the 2022 guide is not a live price sheet.
How to handle events as a free player
Events are often where the pay-to-advance feeling is most visible. A free track may contain missions and reward thresholds, while a pass or bundle adds another reward lane. The October 2026 Gilded Club guide illustrates this structure with a seven-day schedule, free rewards, and paid choices. It does not establish that every future event will use the same format.

Read the event before committing
- Record the event end time. A seven-day event can require activity on specific days, and the October 2026 schedule ends October 18.
- List free missions first. Separate rewards you can earn through normal play from rewards that require a pass, bundle, or Gem purchase.
- Estimate completion realistically. Mark missions that conflict with your usual play time or require a march you have not built.
- Claim free milestones promptly. Some event interfaces require manual claiming, and unclaimed rewards may not carry over after the event.
- Ignore sunk-cost pressure. If a paid option becomes attractive only because you already spent time on free missions, compare its remaining value with your original goal.
Choose rewards that compound
For a free account, a reward that strengthens your main march or supplies a scarce upgrade can be more useful than a broad collection of minor items. The right choice depends on the current event inventory and your team. Do not treat a temporary event bundle as necessary simply because it displays a higher total reward; the paid lane may contain items you cannot use immediately.

This table separates documented mechanics from unknown outcomes. It is reasonable to expect spending to improve speed or convenience; it is not reasonable to claim a fixed dollar amount guarantees a server victory.

First login and account setup
- Complete the introductory progression and inspect the current element and immortal options.
- Choose a Water or Lightning direction if it fits the current roster, using the official starter recommendation as a starting point rather than a permanent tier list.
- Record which buildings, technologies, and immortals directly improve that march.
- Locate the alliance menu, Market, VIP panel, and event center so you know where costs and rewards are displayed.
Early development
- Join an active alliance as soon as the game allows it.
- Participate in alliance technology donations, rallies, city activities, and garrisons that you can complete safely.
- Spend ordinary upgrade resources on the march you selected instead of starting several unrelated teams.
- Log in around the daily reset and claim every available free reward.
- Keep a written or mental Gem budget before opening a Market refresh or an event shop.
When your account has a stable core
- Compare the current Market inventory with the next fragment or upgrade your march needs.
- Check whether an event’s free milestones are achievable without changing your normal schedule.
- Use free rewards to fill gaps rather than replacing a coherent build every time a new item appears.
- Review your alliance’s activity and move if shared objectives are consistently inactive.
- Set a competitive target for the next season or event, such as participating in rallies or improving a personal ranking, instead of using “be the strongest” as an unlimited spending goal.
Common mistakes that make free progression feel impossible
Chasing every element at once
Dividing early resources among several incomplete marches delays the first team that can perform reliably. A focused Water or Lightning start, as suggested by the starter guide, gives you a clear testable plan. Expand only when your main march has a reason to support another team.
Spending Gems without a target
Small purchases can consume the reserve needed for a guaranteed fragment or a time-limited objective. Always read the current price and decide what the purchase replaces.
Treating old guides as current prices
The VIP and Market guides are from September and April 2022. Their system descriptions can explain why a menu exists, but their thresholds, item rotations, and Gem costs may no longer match your account.

Assuming one event is a permanent rule
The Gilded Club details apply to an event scheduled through October 18, 2026. Future events may change the mission list, duration, free rewards, paid options, or eligibility. Read each event panel independently.
Measuring success only by top-server rank
A free player’s experience differs dramatically between joining alliance content, collecting immortals, and competing for the highest ranking. Pick the outcome you actually want. The available documentation does not quantify how much spending is needed to reach any of those outcomes.
Should you spend at all?
Spend only if the purchase has value for your own goal and budget, not because a rival account has a higher power number. A small optional purchase may buy convenience, but the documented systems do not provide a universal break-even point or a guaranteed competitive result. Before confirming a transaction, check the item list, recurrence, event end date, and whether the reward is useful for your chosen march.

Final verdict
Infinity Kingdom is not proven to be an all-or-nothing pay-to-win game. It is free to play, but its VIP system, Gem-linked progression, packs, and optional event passes give paying players routes to advance faster or with more flexibility. That pressure matters most when “winning” means competing for the top of a server. For alliance play, collection, strategy, and gradual development, a disciplined free player can progress without paying. The size of the spender advantage and the time needed for a free account to reach a particular competitive level remain unmeasured, so any precise claim would go beyond the available evidence.
