But there is no announced Switch release date, and Team17 has not said which Switch hardware generation will be supported. The separately announced 2027 release is for Steam only, so it should not be treated as a Switch launch window.
What is Holstin about?
Holstin is a psychological survival horror game developed by Sonka and published by Team17. It is set in late November 1992 in Jeziorne-Kolonia, an isolated town in eastern Poland. You follow the trail of your missing friend Bartek, whose last known whereabouts are in the town, and investigate what happened to him—and why he may not have escaped.
A foul presence is consuming Jeziorne-Kolonia. The town’s people, buildings, wildlife and streets are described as deteriorating or covered in slime. Team17’s official Holstin page describes exploration, scavenging for scarce supplies and weapons, combat against monstrosities, and conversations with locals whose increasingly delusional state is connected to questions and puzzles.
What is confirmed about Holstin on Nintendo Switch?
Team17 lists Nintendo Switch among Holstin’s planned platforms and labels the game “Coming soon.” The official page does not provide a Switch release date or identify supported hardware. It therefore confirms the publisher’s plan to bring the game to Switch, not a specific launch window or compatibility promise for the original Switch, Switch 2, or both.

On August 27, 2026, the official Holstin Steam community news page announced that the game would release in 2027. That announcement is specifically about Steam. It does not establish a 2027 date for Nintendo Switch or other console versions.
What might the game look and play like?
Team17 describes hand-drawn pixel-art environments, dynamic lighting and camera rotation that lets players view the world from eight angles. Those are announced design features; they do not establish how the game will look or perform on Switch hardware. No Switch-specific performance details are stated on the official game page.

In a December 2025 publishing announcement, game director Rafał Sankowski said the partnership would help the team pursue its ambitions for Holstin. His remarks also mentioned refining gameplay, improving voice acting and adding Polish Easter eggs, but they do not confirm a platform-specific feature or release date.
Is there a Holstin demo on Switch?
No Switch demo is established by the available official store information. Steam lists a free, single-player demo released on September 1, 2023, and says it covers the first two hours of the game. That listing is for Steam and should not be taken as confirmation of a demo on Nintendo Switch.

What content should players expect?
