Hellraiser: Revival is not a physical-only release. Saber Interactive announced that Clive Barker’s horror game would launch “both digitally and on physical media” on October 8, 2026. Official storefronts list digital editions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, plus a Nintendo Switch 2 version. The announcement confirms both formats generally, but it does not prove that every platform, territory or edition has a physical copy.
What the official announcement confirms
In a July 16, 2026 PlayStation Blog article, Saber Interactive Game Director Emil Esov described the launch plainly: “We’ll find out on October 8 when Hellraiser: Revival launches both digitally and on physical media.” You can read the statement in the official PlayStation Blog announcement.

That wording answers the central question: the game has a digital release and a physical release. It does not, however, provide a platform-by-platform manufacturing list. The statement does not say whether a disc or cartridge is available in every country, whether every edition has a boxed equivalent, or which retailers will carry each physical SKU. Those details need to be checked for the platform and region you intend to use.
Where digital editions are listed
Digital availability is documented by first-party storefronts rather than by a retailer rumor or an unverified product page. The following listings identify the supported platforms and editions.
#1 Best Overall
- A New Story in Hellraiser's Canon – Unwittingly kickstart Pinhead’s ritual to unleash greater pain and pleasure than ever before.
- Harness the Power of the Box – Combine the unique, hellish abilities of the Configuration with an arsenal of earthly weapons to inflict bone-breaking, flesh-searing pain - or is it pleasure? - upon masochistic enemies.
- Fight Against Unholy Enemies – Take on hell's wretches, deviants, cultists, and even its most infernal priests in a story-driven horror survival game.
| Platform | Official listing | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | PlayStation game page | Digital Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition are listed for PS5, with October 8, 2026 shown as the release date. |
| Xbox Series X|S and PC | US Xbox Store listing | Digital Standard and Deluxe listings cover Xbox Series X|S and PC. The listing identifies Xbox Play Anywhere. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Nintendo UK listing | A Nintendo Switch 2 software listing shows an October 8, 2026 release date and a 42.1 GB download size. |
Store pages can change after launch. A listing is evidence that a digital edition is offered through that storefront; it is not a guarantee that the same SKU, language selection, price or entitlement appears in every country.
What is known about the physical release
The developer’s announcement confirms physical media, making a boxed copy a legitimate purchase path. The PlayStation page also identifies a PS5 version, so a physical PS5 release is consistent with the announcement and relevant to people who prefer a disc.
The available official material stops short of confirming a complete physical catalog. It does not enumerate disc versions for Xbox, regional distribution for PlayStation, a physical Switch 2 card, or physical equivalents of the Deluxe Edition. It also does not establish whether a particular country receives the same packaging or whether stock is available at a given retailer. Treat “physical release” as a general launch-format confirmation, not as proof that every platform and territory has an identical boxed product.

Why platform and region matter
Physical games are distributed by territory and may have different language, rating or packaging information. A disc can also be tied to a platform generation: a PS5 disc is not a substitute for an Xbox or Switch 2 version. Before ordering, match the box or listing to the exact console model and country storefront you use. If a listing does not show the platform clearly, do not assume it is interchangeable with another version.
Standard and Deluxe digital editions
PlayStation’s official page lists both a digital Standard Edition and a digital Deluxe Edition for PS5. The Xbox Store likewise lists Standard and Deluxe digital editions for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The stores may display prices, bundles and upgrade options that change over time, so those volatile figures should be checked directly when you are ready to buy.
The official Xbox Deluxe Edition listing identifies digital extras including an art book, soundtrack and the “Bleeding Hearts” novella, along with additional content. Those extras are specifically described on the Xbox listing. The official sources reviewed do not confirm that a physical Deluxe package contains the same items, so do not infer that a boxed edition includes a disc, code or printed material matching the digital bundle.

Choosing between Standard and Deluxe
- Choose Standard if you want the core game and do not need the listed digital art book, soundtrack or novella.
- Choose Deluxe if those digital extras matter to you and you are buying through a store that explicitly includes them.
- Check the platform listing before paying for an upgrade. A Deluxe entitlement purchased for one platform should not be assumed to transfer to another unless that store states the transfer terms.
Xbox and PC: Play Anywhere and cloud-play conditions
The US Xbox Store listing covers Xbox Series X|S and PC and identifies the title as Xbox Play Anywhere. That label indicates a Microsoft ecosystem entitlement, but the store’s own terms still control how the license is delivered and which devices are supported. Read the current listing while signed in to the account you will use.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe same store information says cloud play requires both a game purchase and an eligible Xbox Game Pass tier. Cloud access is therefore a separate service condition, not an automatic consequence of seeing the game listed digitally. If you plan to stream rather than install, verify that your subscription tier, account region and device are eligible at the time of use.
Nintendo Switch 2 download requirements
Nintendo UK’s listing reports a 42.1 GB download size for the Switch 2 version. That figure comes from the UK and Ireland storefront and may be presented differently in another region. It is a useful planning number, not a promise that every future patch will fit within exactly 42.1 GB.

For a digital Switch 2 purchase, check available console or microSD Express storage before downloading. Leave additional space for updates and temporary installation files. If your storage is tight, a physical option—where offered in your territory—can reduce the initial download requirement, but the official sources do not state whether the physical Switch 2 product is a game card, a code in a box or another format.
Release date and what it means for availability
Official PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo pages identify October 8, 2026 as the release date. The developer’s announcement uses the same date for the digital and physical launch. A date on a store page establishes the scheduled release timing; it does not guarantee that every regional storefront unlocks at the same hour or that a physical shipment arrives on that day.
Digital stores can show a product before release for pre-order, preload or wish-list purposes. After release, a listing may still display a purchase button, a download option or a regional notice. Physical stock can sell out or arrive later than the digital version. For the most accurate status, open the first-party page for your country and platform rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party listing.

How to verify the copy you are about to buy
- Identify your hardware. Confirm whether you need PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC or Nintendo Switch 2. Do not rely on the franchise name alone.
- Open the matching first-party store. Use the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo listing for your country. Check that the page names Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival and shows the correct platform.
- Check the edition. Compare Standard and Deluxe labels. Read the included-content panel, especially if you want the art book, soundtrack or “Bleeding Hearts” novella.
- Decide on format. For digital, verify account ownership, storage and any subscription requirement for cloud play. For physical, confirm the exact console, region and whether the seller identifies a disc or cartridge.
- Review delivery timing. Digital orders may preload or unlock according to the store’s schedule. Physical orders depend on local stock and shipping.
- Keep the receipt and SKU details. Save the platform, edition and region information in case customer support needs to correct a mistaken purchase.
Digital versus physical: practical trade-offs
| Consideration | Digital copy | Physical copy |
|---|---|---|
| Availability evidence | Official listings exist for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. | Developer confirms physical media generally; platform- and territory-specific availability is not fully enumerated. |
| Storage | Requires an installation; Nintendo UK lists 42.1 GB for Switch 2. | May reduce the initial download requirement, but the official sources do not specify installation or update requirements for a physical product. |
| Extras | Xbox Deluxe listing names a digital art book, soundtrack and “Bleeding Hearts” novella, plus other content. | Physical Deluxe contents are not confirmed by the cited official pages. |
| Access conditions | Account and storefront region apply; Xbox cloud play additionally requires a game purchase and eligible Game Pass tier. | Requires the correct platform product and local stock; distribution can vary by territory. |
| Ownership flexibility | Digital licenses remain tied to the purchasing account and store rules. | A boxed copy can be lent or resold where local rules and seller policies permit, but the sources here do not describe those policies. |
What the sources do not establish
- They do not provide a complete list of countries receiving a physical copy.
- They do not confirm physical editions for every listed platform.
- They do not specify whether a physical Deluxe Edition mirrors the Xbox digital extras.
- They do not provide durable prices; storefront prices observed on October 13, 2026 were regional snapshots and can change.
- They do not report physical-versus-digital sales figures or consumer-demand statistics.
These limits are important when interpreting a retailer page. A seller may list a product for pre-order, use a placeholder image or offer an import version. Match any listing against the official platform name and your region before treating it as confirmation.
Bottom line for buyers
Hellraiser: Revival is a dual-format release, not a physical-only game. You can plan on an official digital edition for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2, while the developer has confirmed a physical launch in general. If you want a disc or boxed copy, verify the platform and territory because the cited announcements do not guarantee physical availability for every combination. If you choose digital, select the correct Standard or Deluxe listing and account for storage—especially the 42.1 GB Switch 2 download—and the Xbox cloud-play requirements.
