Short answer: Haunted Chocolatier is confirmed for PC, while console versions remain an intention rather than an announced release. ConcernedApe has not named a PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo platform, and there is no release date or launch window. The latest dated update, on August 30, 2026, says development is continuing without rushing the game.
The platform answer in one table
| Question | What is officially established |
|---|---|
| Is a PC version planned? | Yes. PC is the only platform ConcernedApe says he is certain about. |
| Are console versions confirmed? | No. He says he has every intention of bringing the game to other major platforms, but no individual console has been announced. |
| Will outside help be used? | He says he will most likely get help with console ports and localizations when the game is close to finished. |
| Is there a release date? | No date or release window has been committed to. |
| Can players preorder or join early access? | The developer said there would be no preorders, crowdfunding or early access. |
| Is the game a Stardew Valley expansion? | No. It is a separate game with its own development and platform plans. |
These distinctions matter because an intended port is not the same as a listed product. Until an official storefront page or a developer announcement identifies a console, readers should treat PC as the sole confirmed destination.

What ConcernedApe has actually confirmed
PC is the only certain platform
The official Haunted Chocolatier FAQ uses unusually careful wording: “The only platform I am 100% certain about is PC.” That is the strongest platform commitment currently available. It means a PC release is part of the developer’s stated plan, not that a date, price, system requirement or storefront has been announced.

The statement also explains why console lists circulating online should be read cautiously. A developer can be certain about one target while still evaluating the technical, certification and localization work required for other systems. No official material reviewed for this article supplies a named console SKU.

Other major platforms are intended, not guaranteed
The same FAQ adds: “However, I have every intention of bringing it to the other major platforms as well.” “Every intention” communicates a genuine goal, but it does not constitute a confirmed port. It leaves open which platforms qualify as “major,” when any port work would begin, and whether every intended version will launch at the same time.
For that reason, headlines that declare a PlayStation, Xbox, Switch or successor-console edition as confirmed go beyond the available evidence. The responsible description is that console releases are desired and planned in principle, with no platform-by-platform confirmation yet.
Porting help is a future plan, not a current announcement
ConcernedApe says, “However, when it’s close to being done I will most likely get help for console ports and localizations.” This tells readers when he expects additional porting support to become relevant: near completion. It does not identify a porting studio, announce a contract, establish a launch order or provide a schedule.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe wording also separates two kinds of work. A console port adapts the game to a platform’s technical and certification requirements; localization prepares text and other language support for additional regions. Both are mentioned as likely assistance later in development, rather than as work already announced for a specific machine.

Development status and what it says about timing
The latest dated update
On August 30, 2026, ConcernedApe posted an update titled “checking in”. He wrote, “Im still here, still making progress.” He also said, “I won’t compromise on the quality of the game by rushing it or releasing it too early.” Those lines confirm active development as of that date and explain why the project should not be treated as imminent.
The update is a progress statement, not a delivery estimate. It does not specify a percentage complete, a milestone schedule, a beta period or a target year. Development details can change before launch, so the date of the post matters whenever it is cited.
There is no release date or window
The FAQ states, “I can’t commit to a release date yet.” A January 2026 developer note on the official 2026 updates page reinforced that position: the game will come out when it is done rather than on a promised calendar date. The August update did not add a date or a release window.
That rules out several common claims: a confirmed 2026 or 2027 launch, a console launch sequence, and a pre-release countdown. None is supported by the official statements. A future announcement could change the picture, but it would need to come from the developer or an official platform listing.

Why a console announcement may come later
Haunted Chocolatier is being built as an RPG/simulation in which the player lives as a chocolatier in a haunted castle, gathers ingredients, makes chocolates and sells them through a shop. ConcernedApe describes it as more of an action-RPG than Stardew Valley. That mix can involve combat, menus, production systems and shop management, all of which must be adapted cleanly to keyboard-and-mouse and controller input.
The premise does not prove that porting is difficult, and it does not predict a particular console. It does explain why the developer may wait until the core game is stable before committing to outside porting help. Controller layouts, performance targets, platform certification, save handling and language support are implementation tasks that can be finalized after the main design is settled.
Readers should distinguish this practical sequence from a promise about timing. The developer has described when he expects to seek help, not how long that work will take or whether every intended platform will launch together.

In January 2026, ConcernedApe explicitly clarified that Haunted Chocolatier and Stardew Valley are separate games and that Haunted Chocolatier will not be added to Stardew Valley. The new title therefore has its own codebase, release plan and platform decisions.

That clarification matters when interpreting comparisons. Stardew Valley’s availability on a particular console cannot be used as proof that Haunted Chocolatier is coming to the same console. Familiarity with the earlier game’s controls or storefront presence may shape expectations, but it is not an announcement for the new game.
What has not been announced
- No individual console has been confirmed in the official FAQ or the 2026 developer updates.
- No release date, quarter, year or launch window has been provided.
- No console launch order has been stated, so there is no basis for saying PC will launch first or that a particular console will follow.
- No porting partner, publisher arrangement or certification timeline has been named.
- No preorder page, crowdfunding campaign or early-access program is available under the developer’s stated plan.
- No final price, system requirements, cross-save policy, cross-play feature or performance target has been announced.
These are not hidden details that can be filled in from rumors. They are simply decisions the developer has not published. Treat a retailer listing, social-media image or unsourced release date as unverified unless it links back to an official announcement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Preorders and early access
A December 2024 developer update said Haunted Chocolatier would not use early access, crowdfunding or preorders. No later 2026 material reviewed here announces a change. That means a request for payment, a “reservation” or an invitation to buy an early build should not be assumed to be legitimate or connected to the game.

Because there is no confirmed console listing, there is also no official console store page from which to judge edition names, prices or regional availability. Waiting for a verified listing protects buyers from paying for an unrelated product or an impersonation.

How to follow reliable platform news
- Start with the FAQ. Check the official FAQ for the current platform wording. It is the source that distinguishes PC certainty from intentions for other major platforms.
- Read dated developer updates. The 2026 updates page provides context for timing statements and clarifications about the game’s status.
- Check the newest post date. The August 30, 2026 progress update is the latest dated official status identified here. A newer post could supersede it, so always compare publication dates.
- Look for a named platform and an explicit action. A real announcement should identify the console or PC storefront and say what has changed—such as a listing, release date or port confirmation. General phrases such as “coming soon” do not establish those details.
- Verify before paying. Do not use a preorder link or download offered through an unofficial account while the developer’s stated plan contains no preorders or early access.
What prospective players can plan for now
If you play on PC
PC is the only platform with a stated certainty, so it is the only version prospective players can reasonably plan around at present. That still does not provide a launch date, store, price or hardware requirement. Avoid buying new hardware solely for this unreleased game until official requirements are published.
If you play on a console
You can regard a console version as a possibility the developer wants to pursue, not as a product you can reserve. Do not choose a console based on an assumed Haunted Chocolatier edition, because no individual system has been confirmed and no launch order exists.
If you are waiting for a date
The most useful signal is a direct developer update, not a retailer placeholder or a prediction based on another game’s schedule. ConcernedApe has prioritized finishing the game without compromising quality, so an absence of a date is intentional rather than evidence of a hidden launch timetable.

Haunted Chocolatier is still in development. PC is the only platform ConcernedApe says is certain; console versions are an expressed goal that may receive outside porting help near completion, but no specific console or release timing has been announced. The August 30, 2026 update confirms continued progress and a refusal to rush the project. Until an official post names a platform and date, any console-specific claim remains speculation.
