Grand Theft Auto VI is officially listed for Xbox Series X|S, not PC. Rockstar’s current platform FAQ names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and neither official page gives a PC release date. The sources checked do not show Xbox issuing a separate statement that confirms or denies a PC version.
Did Xbox confirm GTA 6 for PC?
No. Xbox’s official product page lists Grand Theft Auto VI for Xbox Series X|S and gives November 19, 2026 as its release date. It does not list PC. That console product listing is not a PC announcement, and it does not establish Xbox PC or cloud availability.

Rockstar’s platforms, editions, and versions FAQ, last updated August 18, 2026, says: “You can pre-order Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.” It does not name PC. The available official information therefore establishes two console platforms, but not a PC version or PC launch date.
What platforms and release date are officially listed?
| Platform | Official status | Release date |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | Rockstar lists it as available for preorder. | November 19, 2026, according to Take-Two/Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 announcement. |
| Xbox Series X|S | Rockstar lists it for preorder; Xbox has an official Series X|S product listing. | November 19, 2026, on Xbox’s product page and in Take-Two/Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 announcement. |
| PC | No PC platform listing appears in the official sources cited here. | No PC release date is stated in those sources. |
Take-Two and Rockstar’s June 24, 2026 preorder announcement also says digital preloads begin November 12, 2026, and the physical code box is expected to be available from that date. Those details do not add PC to the announced platform list.

Why the “Xbox cleared up the rumor” framing needs care
The official Xbox page is a listing for the Xbox Series X|S edition, not a statement addressing PC rumors. The sources checked do not contain an Xbox spokesperson’s confirmation or denial of a GTA VI PC version. It would overstate the evidence to say Xbox confirmed that PC is not happening—or confirmed that a PC port is coming.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick made a general comment about the company’s platform strategy at its annual meeting, as reported by PC Gamer on September 18, 2026. He said PC was becoming more important to the company, while describing a general approach of launching on platforms with meaningful audiences. The report does not identify this as a GTA VI PC announcement or provide a launch date.

What to know before buying the Xbox version
If you choose to play on Xbox at launch, the relevant product is the Xbox Series X|S edition. Rockstar lists Standard and Ultimate editions. Its FAQ says the announced boxed version contains a download code and no disc, so “physical” refers to the box, not a disc copy. Check the retailer’s listing for the exact edition and format before ordering.
