Not necessarily. Delta describes its older Gogo service as Wi-Fi Onboard, and a flight pass may be required for general internet access on those aircraft. Delta Sync Wi-Fi is free for SkyMiles members on equipped flights, while Delta Studio entertainment is free separately. Which service you get depends on the aircraft and route.
What “Gogo” means on Delta now
Delta’s current passenger information calls its older Gogo-equipped service Wi-Fi Onboard (formerly Gogo). It is distinct from Delta Sync, the newer Wi-Fi system being rolled out across the fleet. Not every Delta flight has the same equipment, so the name “Gogo” alone does not tell you whether your trip has free general internet.

Delta says fast, free Delta Sync Wi-Fi is available to SkyMiles members on most domestic U.S. flights. Availability is conditional on the aircraft having Delta Sync; rollout is continuing. Delta’s Wi-Fi page describes services by aircraft and how to connect.

Which service gives you what?
| Option | What it provides | Cost or access described by Delta | How to check or use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Delta Sync Wi-Fi | Onboard internet, including streaming-capable access | Free for SkyMiles members on equipped flights; SkyMiles enrollment is free | Check the flight’s service details and free-Wi-Fi indicators in booking results or pre-flight information. |
| Wi-Fi Onboard (formerly Gogo) | Legacy onboard internet on some aircraft | A flight pass may be purchased. Messaging is free on Wi-Fi-capable flights. | Check Delta’s aircraft/service details or use the onboard portal. |
| Delta Studio | Movies, series, audio, children’s content and live TV | Delta describes this entertainment as free | Watch on a seatback screen or browse entertainment on a personal device. |
Delta does not state a universal current price for a Wi-Fi Onboard flight pass; the portal may present purchase options for your flight. Free messaging is not the same as free full internet access. Delta Studio is also separate from Wi-Fi: free movies or shows do not mean general web access is free. See Delta Studio details.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to check Wi-Fi before your flight
- Look up the flight’s service details. Use Delta’s Wi-Fi information by aircraft rather than assuming availability from the route or airline.
- Check booking and pre-flight information. Delta says a free-Wi-Fi indicator in search results and pre-flight communications can help identify equipped flights.
- Check each leg separately. Connecting flights may use different Wi-Fi services, so do not assume the same access across the itinerary. Delta’s Wi-Fi service information explains the aircraft-specific differences.
How to connect onboard
- Turn on Airplane Mode, then enable Wi-Fi.
- Select the DeltaWiFi.com network.
- Follow the sign-in portal. For Delta Sync, sign in with SkyMiles credentials or enroll in a free SkyMiles account.
- If the portal does not appear, open a browser and enter DeltaWiFi.com.
On a Wi-Fi Onboard aircraft, the portal provides the legacy service options, which may include a paid flight pass or free messaging. Delta’s connection guidance covers both systems.
Delta’s rollout figures: what they do and do not show
In a May 14, 2026 update, Delta reported that Delta Sync Wi-Fi had been installed on more than 1,200 aircraft and had recorded more than 160 million customer sessions since launch. These are company-reported scale figures; they do not establish internet speed, reliability, or availability on a particular flight. See Delta’s May 2026 update.
