The game itself is not improved by early access. Standard is the straightforward choice for the base game, Deluxe adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass, and Premium adds early access, VIP benefits, two expansions and additional car packs. Game Pass members should compare the Premium Upgrade with buying the full Premium Edition, because their subscription already supplies the underlying game.
Forza Horizon 6 release dates and early-access window
Forza Horizon 6 launched on Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 19, 2026, according to Playground Games’ announcement and FAQ. Premium Edition owners could begin on May 15, a four-day head start. Early access changes when you can play; it does not provide a separate version of the driving model, map or story.

Game Pass Ultimate members could play on Xbox Series X|S, PC through the Xbox app and Xbox Cloud Gaming from May 19. PC Game Pass members could play through the Xbox app from that date. Playground Games described this access as included with membership at no additional game purchase cost, subject to the subscription remaining eligible.
There is a one-day discrepancy in store metadata. Steam displayed May 18, 2026 as its release date during the reviewed period, while the publisher’s announcement and FAQ state May 19 for PC. Check the live listing for your storefront and region if the exact launch timestamp affects a purchase or a planned event.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What Premium Early Access does and does not provide
- It provides: access beginning May 15 on the Xbox and PC release schedule, before the May 19 general launch.
- It does not provide: better performance, exclusive handling physics or a different campaign. Those claims are not part of the published edition descriptions.
- It is most useful when: you want to play during that four-day window, join friends immediately, or begin using Premium’s credit and content benefits from the start.
Edition differences at a glance
The following comparison uses the inclusions published by Playground Games and the Steam USD listing observed during the research period. Store prices can change and may differ by country, tax and platform.
| Edition | Published contents | Steam price shown | Early Access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Full game | $69.99 USD | No |
| Deluxe | Full game, Welcome Pack and Car Pass | $99.99 USD | No |
| Premium | Full game, VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, Italian Passion Car Pack and two expansions | $119.99 USD | Yes, from May 15 for Xbox/PC |
| Premium Upgrade | Premium content and Early Access for someone who already owns the base game or has eligible Game Pass access | Not stated in the supplied pricing | Yes, when paired with the required game access |
Some Premium add-ons and expansions were identified as post-release content in the original edition announcement. Their inclusion in the purchase does not mean every item is available on launch day; release timing can vary by item.
What each included add-on contains
Welcome Pack
Playground Games describes the Welcome Pack as five special pre-tuned cars, one car voucher and three clothing tickets. It is a useful collection if you want ready-to-drive starter cars or intend to spend a voucher on a vehicle, but its practical value depends on whether those cars and cosmetics fit your garage.
VIP Membership
VIP includes a 2x credit boost to race rewards, three VIP-exclusive Forza Edition cars and a weekly bonus Super Wheelspin, plus other vanity and house benefits described by the publisher. The credit multiplier is most relevant to players who expect to race regularly and build up a large collection; occasional players may not recoup as much value from it.

- 5-in-1 USB-C Hub: Experience comprehensive connectivity featuring a Power Delivery input, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-A 3.0 port, and an HDMI port. (Note: The USB-C power delivery input port is only for connecting an external wall charger to power your laptop and cannot power peripheral devices.)
- 90W Pass-Through Charging: Achieve optimal charging with 90W pass-through power to your laptop, supported by a total input of 100W, with the hub reserving 10W for operational efficiency. (Note: Wall charger not included.)
- Quick Data Transfers: Accelerate your productivity with rapid data transfers using a high-speed 5Gbps USB 3.0 port and two 480Mbps USB 2.0 ports.
- 4K HDMI Display: Enhance your visual experience with a hub capable of delivering 4K resolution at 30Hz in both mirror and extend modes. Please note that this hub is compatible with MacBook (macOS 12 and newer), Windows 10 and 11, ChromeOS, and laptops equipped with DP Alt Mode and Power Delivery. Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Car Pass
The Car Pass adds 30 cars. Playground Games says one car becomes available each week starting May 19, 2026. That staggered schedule matters: the pass is a continuing stream of vehicles rather than 30 cars necessarily appearing in your garage on the first day.
Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack
The Time Attack Car Pack contains eight cars. The Premium listing also includes the Italian Passion Car Pack, although the published edition summary does not state a car count for that pack. Do not treat the eight-car figure as applying to both packs.
Two expansions
Premium includes two expansions. The edition information confirms their inclusion but does not assign a separate retail value or provide a complete launch schedule for both. If expansions are the main reason you are considering Premium, verify their individual availability dates and descriptions in the live store before buying.

Is Premium worth the extra cost?
On the Steam listing reviewed, Deluxe cost $30 more than Standard and Premium cost $20 more than Deluxe, making Premium $50 above Standard at those listed prices. Those are listing differences, not a universal value calculation: platform pricing, regional currency, taxes and promotions can change the gap.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

Choose Standard when the base game is all you need
Standard is the clearest choice if you want to play the campaign, explore the open world and race without paying for bundled cars, VIP bonuses or expansions. You can avoid paying for content you may never use, and there is no indication that Standard omits core gameplay systems.
Choose Deluxe for a middle-ground bundle
Deluxe is the documented middle tier. It adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass but not VIP Membership, the two expansions, the Time Attack Car Pack, the Italian Passion Car Pack or Early Access. It suits a player who wants a larger garage and the weekly Car Pass stream but is not prioritizing the four-day head start.
Choose Premium when timing and breadth both matter
Premium becomes easier to justify when you expect to use several categories of content: the early-access window, VIP credit and wheelspin benefits, the 30-car Car Pass, both car packs and the two expansions. Buying it solely for the May 15 start is a personal time-value decision. A four-day advantage is meaningful for players who plan to play immediately, while it has little value if you will not start until after May 19.

Game Pass members and the Premium Upgrade
Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members received the base game on the May 19 release date through their subscription. For those players, the relevant comparison is usually the Premium Upgrade rather than purchasing the full Premium Edition again.
What the upgrade assumes
- You must continue to own the game or maintain an eligible Game Pass subscription; the upgrade is not a standalone replacement for the base game.
- The upgrade supplies the Premium benefits and Early Access associated with the Premium tier.
- If your subscription ends, access to the underlying game through Game Pass can end as well, even though an upgrade purchase has been made.
Standard or Deluxe owners can use the same upgrade route to add Premium content. Check the storefront’s current upgrade price and entitlement wording before checkout; the reviewed material does not state a universal Premium Upgrade price.

Playground Games’ October announcement gives PS5 a later release. Standard and Deluxe are scheduled for January 26, 2027, while Premium Early Access is scheduled for January 21, 2027. The first Premium Expansion is also scheduled for January 21, 2027. These dates were future dates at the time of the announcement and should be confirmed in the current PlayStation listing if your purchase is being made near launch.

The PS5 version supports cross-platform play and cross-save with Xbox and Steam, according to the announcement. That means the platform delay does not automatically require a separate progression path, although account linking and platform entitlements can still affect what you own on each system.

PS5 physical edition
The publisher says a PS5 disc edition will be available at supporting retailers. A PS5 pre-order includes a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, added after you start the game and complete the prologue. Availability, retailer stock and pricing are not established here, so verify those details with the retailer you intend to use.
A practical decision checklist
- Identify your platform and start date. Xbox and PC launched in May 2026; PS5 follows in January 2027. If you are on Xbox or PC and will not play before May 19, Early Access has no scheduling benefit.
- Check how you obtain the base game. Game Pass users should price Premium Upgrade. Standard and Deluxe owners should also compare the upgrade instead of buying a second full edition.
- Count the add-on categories you will actually use. Consider the Welcome Pack, VIP credit boost and wheelspins, 30-car Car Pass, eight-car Time Attack pack, Italian Passion pack and two expansions separately.
- Check current regional pricing. The $69.99, $99.99 and $119.99 figures were Steam USD listings and are not guaranteed current or universal.
- Confirm release timing for post-launch content. Premium entitlement does not necessarily mean every expansion or pack is available on day one.
Common buying mistakes
Buying Premium only because it sounds like a better game
Premium is a larger bundle, not a higher-quality game build. If you do not value the early window or the included extras, Standard covers the core release.
Assuming the Car Pass delivers everything immediately
The publisher’s schedule starts one car per week on May 19, so the 30-car total is distributed over time.
Confusing an upgrade with a game license
Premium Upgrade requires ownership of, or eligible subscription access to, the underlying game. Confirm that entitlement before purchasing.
Using the Xbox/PC date for PS5
PS5 has its own January 2027 schedule. Use the PS5 dates rather than the May 2026 Xbox/PC dates when planning a console purchase.
