Steam currently lists FINAL FANTASY XVI as Steam Deck Verified. That means it meets Valve’s compatibility criteria for playing on the Deck; it does not promise a particular frame rate, graphics setting, or battery life.
What Steam Deck Verified means for Final Fantasy XVI
Valve describes a Verified game as one that “works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.” Its review covers four areas: input, display, seamlessness, and system support. Valve applies compatibility ratings to both LCD and OLED Steam Deck models, and says reviews are ongoing. Valve’s Steam Deck compatibility guide explains the categories.

Verified is a compatibility classification, not a game-specific performance benchmark. It does not establish how many frames per second FINAL FANTASY XVI will deliver on a Deck, which graphics preset to use, or how long the battery will last. Valve’s published criteria and the game’s current Steam listing do not provide those measurements. Check the current Steam listing for its latest compatibility status.
How Valve’s compatibility categories differ
| Category | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Verified | Valve says the game works great on Steam Deck out of the box. |
| Playable | The game works, but may require some manual adjustment by the player. |
| Unsupported | Valve’s review finds the game does not currently function on Steam Deck. |
| Unknown | Valve has not yet completed a compatibility review. |
These categories describe compatibility, not a league table of visual quality or speed. A Verified label should not be read as a promise that a game will perform better than another title with a different rating.
#1 Best Overall
- The "World Champion Decks 2024" will be sold as a new preconstructed deck that is a full reproduction of the two decks used by the player who won the “World Championship”. Since the two decks are the exact same two decks that won the Championship, you will have two well-constructed decks to play with immediately after purchase.
What the PC system requirements say—and do not say
Steam’s listing specifies an SSD, 16 GB of RAM, and 170 GB of available storage for both the minimum and recommended PC requirements. It gives an expectation of 30 FPS at 720p for the minimum requirements and 60 FPS at 1080p for the recommended requirements. These are Steam’s published PC requirements and targets, not measured Steam Deck results or Deck-specific performance guarantees. See the full requirements on Steam.
