FastestVPN’s strongest case is its low advertised price: the vendor listed a $40 lifetime option and support for 10 simultaneous connections in its FAQ accessed October 7, 2026. But low cost comes with meaningful uncertainty. Reviews report slow performance, inconsistent streaming access, and privacy and security concerns; plan durations and refund terms also conflict across the pages reviewed. It may suit a budget-conscious user willing to accept those trade-offs, but the available evidence does not support buying it on price alone.
What do the plans cost, and what exactly are you buying?
FastestVPN’s listed prices are unusually low, but its own FAQ and a recent review do not agree on the duration of the $19.95 offer. Treat these as dated listings, not guaranteed checkout prices.

| Plan or term | FastestVPN FAQ | TechRadar review |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $5 per month; FAQ accessed October 7, 2026 | $5 per month; review updated September 11, 2026 |
| $19.95 offer | Annual subscription; FAQ accessed October 7, 2026 | Two-year offer, about $0.83 per month; review updated September 11, 2026 |
| Lifetime | $40; FAQ accessed October 7, 2026 | $40; review updated September 11, 2026 |
| Refund period | 31-day money-back guarantee; FAQ accessed October 7, 2026 | 31 days in the main offer, while some support pages reportedly say 15 days; review updated September 11, 2026 |
The mismatch on the $19.95 plan duration is unresolved in the sources reviewed. Check the plan length, renewal amount, and refund conditions shown at checkout and in the applicable policy before paying. A money-back guarantee is not the same as a free trial.

Lifetime pricing needs a different comparison
A one-time $40 payment can look cheaper than recurring billing, but it commits you to a single service rather than giving you flexibility to leave at a renewal date. The available sources do not establish how long the service will remain available or whether lifetime terms can change, so do not treat “lifetime” as a guarantee of service for any particular number of years.

Is FastestVPN fast?
The reviews do not support taking “Fastest” as a performance claim. TechRadar describes the connections it tested as slow, while acknowledging improvement. RTINGS characterizes download and upload speeds in its own review as very slow. Neither provides a universal speed figure that can reliably predict what a particular person will get.
Those assessments can differ because results depend on such factors as device, protocol, route, server, test method, and time. The sources do not establish a directly comparable set of results, so there is no sound basis here for promising a particular speed or percentage of your normal connection. If speed is central to your decision, use a plan with a refund policy you have confirmed and test it on the device, protocol, and routes you actually need.
Will FastestVPN work with Netflix and other streaming services?
Streaming access is mixed and can change with service, region, server, and time. FastestVPN’s FAQ itself warns that only limited Netflix libraries may be accessible. TechRadar’s reported tests found both successes and failures:

| Service or region | TechRadar’s reported result |
|---|---|
| Netflix | Access worked for the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Japan libraries |
| Amazon Prime Video | Access worked in Canada; tests failed in the US and Canada |
| Disney+ | Access worked in the US, UK, and Canada |
| DAZN | Access worked in the US and Canada; the UK test failed |
| YouTube | Access worked in the UK; the Canada test failed |
| BBC iPlayer and ITVX | Access worked in TechRadar’s tests |
The Amazon Prime Video results in the review are internally inconsistent: it reports Canada as working and also lists Canada among the failures. That makes it especially important not to rely on the reported result as a guarantee. TechRadar also notes problems in Japan and that removed Australian servers affected other tests. These are one publication’s test results, not a promise that a service will work for you.
What privacy evidence is available?
There is a 2023 no-logs audit, but it is a dated, scoped review rather than continuous verification of today’s service. Altius IT says it compared the company’s no-logs statements with technical configurations and logs, inspected a sample of servers and logs, and used the mobile app in different modes. Its conclusion was time-bound: “On the dates of our review, Altius IT did not find any evidence of system configurations and/or system/service log files that, independently or collectively, could lead to identifying a specific person and/or the person’s activity when using FastestVPN service.”
The report also describes collection of account email addresses and connection dates, along with limited connection statistics and software analytics or diagnostics. So “no logs” should not be read as “no information is collected.” The audit addresses whether the reviewed records and configurations could identify a person or their VPN activity during the audit period; it does not establish current system behavior.

Independent reviews raise separate concerns
RTINGS criticizes the privacy policy’s collection and sharing provisions for account information and analytics, and describes the audit as narrow and light on detail. TechRadar also calls the audit old. These are reviewers’ assessments of the policy and audit, distinct from Altius IT’s historical findings.
TechRadar raises a company-transparency concern as well: it says FastestVPN presents itself as headquartered in the Cayman Islands, but the reviewer found US addresses on company listings and little information about leadership. That is a concern reported by the publication, not a legal determination about the company’s jurisdiction.
Are there security or kill-switch concerns?
The test results are not uniformly negative, but they do call for care. TechRadar reports a kill-switch leak when using IKEv2. RTINGS reports no IP or DNS leaks in its tests and no kill-switch leak during reboot, internet-loss, or crash tests. These findings concern different reported test conditions and should not be collapsed into a claim that every setup leaks—or that none does.

RTINGS also reports a TLS certificate-validation issue while connecting to Google.com. It explicitly cautions that its test did not prove traffic interception or decryption. The appropriate takeaway is that the reviewer observed a certificate-validation concern, not that confirmed interception occurred.
TechRadar lists OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IKEv2 as supported protocols and AES-256 encryption. Given its reported IKEv2 kill-switch leak, avoid treating the presence of a kill switch as proof that every protocol and failure condition is protected. For a VPN, the practical questions are whether the app’s protections work under the conditions you need and whether you trust the provider’s handling of account and diagnostic data.

1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsHow many devices, servers, and features are included?
FastestVPN’s FAQ says an account supports 10 simultaneous device connections; each additional simultaneous login costs $4. TechRadar lists apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, plus Chrome and Firefox extensions. It also describes setup guides for other platforms, but notes that some Linux and support instructions are awkward or outdated; Linux use may require a third-party client.

- Next-Gen Gigabit Wi-Fi 6 Speeds: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands ensure smoother streaming and faster downloads; support VPN server and VPN client¹
- A More Responsive Experience: Enjoy smooth gaming, video streaming, and live feeds simultaneously. OFDMA makes your Wi-Fi stronger by allowing multiple clients to share one band at the same time, cutting latency and jitter.²
- Expanded Wi-Fi Coverage: 4 high-gain external antennas and Beamforming technology combine to extend strong, reliable, Wi-Fi throughout your home.
- Improved Battery Life: Target Wake Time helps your devices to communicate efficiently while consuming less power.
- Improved Cooling Design: No heat ups, no throttles. A larger heat sink and redefined case design cools the WiFi 6 system and enables your network to stay at top speeds in more versatile environments.
The vendor FAQ lists 50+ countries, 100+ locations, and 800+ servers. TechRadar says its own count found 66 locations, fewer than the vendor’s 100+ claim. These are different ways of reporting network size, and the discrepancy matters if you need a broad choice of specific locations.
TechRadar also lists P2P-optimized servers, port forwarding, an ad blocker, dedicated IP as an add-on, and two years of access to a password manager. Its review criticizes the ad blocking and the value of add-ons. Those features do not offset the need to evaluate the core VPN service on performance, privacy, and the locations you actually need.
Who might consider FastestVPN—and who should look elsewhere?
It may fit if
- Your main priority is a low listed price, and you have confirmed the plan duration, renewal terms, and refund conditions at checkout.
- You need up to 10 simultaneous connections and your devices are covered by a native app or a setup method you are comfortable using.
- You can tolerate variable streaming access and are prepared to test the exact service and region you care about.
Look for stronger evidence elsewhere if
- Consistent high speeds are essential: both TechRadar and RTINGS report slow performance in their reviews.
- You need a recent, clearly scoped independent privacy assessment or more transparent privacy-policy terms than the reviewers describe.
- You cannot accept uncertainty about refund eligibility or need dependable access to a particular streaming library.
When comparing VPNs, compare the total cost over the time you expect to use them, including renewals and add-ons; the date and scope of privacy audits; performance under comparable tests; access for your particular service and region; device limits; and refund terms. A low initial price alone does not settle whether a VPN is a good value.
