Electro-Voice is still an active professional audio brand, with microphones and loudspeakers in its official catalog. The company is now part of the Keenfinity family of brands; Bosch completed the sale of its security and communications technology product business to Triton at the end of June 2025. The corporate ownership changed, but Electro-Voice did not disappear.
Is Electro-Voice still making microphones and speakers?
Yes. Electro-Voice’s official catalog lists microphones and loudspeakers for live sound, installed sound, and portable applications. Its current microphone pages include broadcast models such as the RE20 and RE27N/D, while its speaker catalog includes families such as ZLX G2, ELX200, EKX, ETX, and EVERSE. The range and availability can vary by region and change over time, so the catalog is not a guarantee that every model is sold in every market. Browse Electro-Voice products.

The RE20 remains part of the lineup
The RE20 is a dynamic broadcast microphone that Electro-Voice continues to identify as a broadcast and voice-over fixture. The company’s wired-microphone page also features the RE20 and RE27N/D in its broadcast microphone line. See Electro-Voice’s RE20 page and wired microphone catalog.

Electro-Voice identifies itself as part of the Keenfinity family of brands, alongside Dynacord. Bosch says it completed the sale of its security and communications technology product business to Triton at the end of June 2025; that business is now named KEENFINITY Group. In other words, Electro-Voice remains a named audio brand within the Keenfinity organization after a corporate ownership transition. Bosch’s announcement concerns the product business, not the disappearance of the Electro-Voice brand. Electro-Voice’s official site · Bosch’s announcement of the completed sale.

Did Bosch discontinue Electro-Voice?
No. The Bosch-to-Triton transaction changed ownership of the security and communications technology product business; it did not mean Electro-Voice stopped operating as a brand. Electro-Voice’s own site continues to present its products and brand materials, and its catalog includes current microphone and loudspeaker families. That is the practical distinction: the parent-company structure changed, while the Electro-Voice name and products remain active.
Why is Electro-Voice well known?
Electro-Voice traces its history to Radio Engineers, founded by Lou Burroughs and Al Kahn in South Bend, Indiana, in 1927. According to the company’s official history, a public-address system built for Notre Dame football coach Knute Rockne earned the nickname “electric voice,” inspiring the Electro-Voice name. The company also highlights its Model 664 dynamic microphone, known as the Buchanan Hammer, and the 642 Cardiline shotgun microphone. Electro-Voice’s history says the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honored the 642 on April 8, 1963. Read the company’s history.
Rank #2
- Designed to deliver a step up in sound quality for the battery-powered portable PA segment, with high SPL and full-bandwidth coverage
- Compact, lightweight and weatherized design coupled with extended battery life – longer run time for gigs and events, indoors or outdoors
- Flexible all-in-one feature set, including QuickSmart Mobile app and Bluetooth for best-in-class control and streaming, an onboard mixer and studio-quality effects – a user-friendly and versatile choice for musicians, DJs, fitness/activity instructors, events/gatherings and more
The RE20 links that legacy to the current catalog: Electro-Voice describes it as a broadcast standard that remains in radio and voice-over studios. That is the manufacturer’s characterization, but the model’s continued presence on its current wired-microphone page confirms it remains part of the brand’s active product materials.
Does Electro-Voice still provide product support?
Electro-Voice publishes warranty documentation, but coverage depends on the product and region. For example, the cited North American warranty document lists three years for powered loudspeakers and five years for non-powered loudspeakers, and identifies Bosch Building Technologies as the warranty provider. These are North American terms, not a global warranty promise. For a specific model, check the current warranty and contact information for your region. Electro-Voice warranty information.
