EA says managers can be sacked, hired by other clubs, or leave their posts. As new managers take over, team tactics can change over time. In EA’s words, “movement in the Manager Market sees team tactics transform over time as new managers take the helm,” creating different dynamics across seasons. This system matters if you want the wider football world to react to managerial changes rather than leaving every rival club tactically static. It matters less if you only control one custom club and skip most other matches.
The Manager Market is a structural change, not a guarantee that every managerial move will produce a dramatic tactical transformation. EA describes the intended behavior; there is no independent measurement here of how often changes occur or how accurately each replacement manager alters a team.

These rules can make a save more distinctive: a points deduction creates a survival challenge, while an embargo forces internal development and free-agent planning. - Local underdog: begin with modest expectations and prioritize academy development rather than expensive transfers.
- Financial challenge: impose your own wage ceiling, transfer embargo, or points deduction and treat survival as the first objective.
- Fantasy squad: use the available ICON and Hero progression route to build a team that could not exist in a conventional roster.
- Authentic rebuild: use the Authentic preset, keep transfers plausible, and let Manager Market changes alter the competitive landscape.
- Scenario career: choose Manager Live when you want a defined challenge instead of inventing every rule yourself.
