Death Dealer is not a confirmed free-to-play full game. As of 13 October 2026, Psychotronic has released a free demo, while Steam lists the complete game as planned for Early Access on 4 November 2026. The developer says Early Access will cost less than the eventual version 1.0 release, but no numerical price has been announced.
The short answer: a free demo, not a confirmed free game
There are two separate questions behind “Is Death Dealer free to play?” The first is whether you can try it without buying the full product. The answer is yes: Psychotronic announced that the Death Dealer demo is out now. The second is whether the complete game will be permanently free. The available official information does not support that conclusion.

Steam currently describes Death Dealer as a Windows multiplayer horror party game that is not yet available as a full release. Its planned Early Access date is 4 November 2026. That date is future-dated relative to the developer announcement and should be treated as a plan, not proof that the build has launched.
The most accurate description is therefore: Death Dealer has a free demo, and the full game is a paid Early Access product planned for release later. Psychotronic has promised a lower Early Access price followed by an increase at version 1.0, but the official listing gives no dollar, euro, pound or other numeric amount.

What is available right now?
The demo is available separately from the full game
Psychotronic’s Steam Community announcement, dated 7 October 2026, is titled “Death Dealer Demo OUT NOW.” That announcement establishes that the demo can be played before the Early Access launch. It does not establish that the complete game has already released.
Steam’s product page makes the distinction explicit by showing the full game as not yet available and displaying the planned 4 November 2026 Early Access date. If you see a listing or social post saying the “game” is out, check whether it is referring to the demo or the paid Early Access build.
What “free” means in this case
The demo is the no-purchase way to try Death Dealer’s concept. “Free-to-play,” however, normally describes the business model of the complete game, including its long-term access and monetization. Psychotronic has not announced a free-to-play model for the full release. Instead, the developer describes a lower Early Access price and a higher price when version 1.0 arrives.

What the Death Dealer demo includes
The official demo announcement lists the main activities available in the trial. It is not merely a menu or a short cinematic sample; it demonstrates the game’s central sequence and several of its systems.

- The Death Deck is a party game that lets you explore a topic we're all obsessed with but often afraid to discuss
- Team up with partners or play in a group - you'll find out fascinating stuff about each other
- With a mix of multiple choice and open-ended questions there are numerous ways to play
- Ages: 13+ | Players: 2 - 10 | Time 30-90 minutes | 112 Question Cards
- The card game: the opening activity that sets up the match.
- The hunt: the follow-on pursuit that forms part of the main gameplay loop.
- Weapons: equipment used during the playable sections.
- Pickups: collectible or usable items encountered during a run.
- Slot machines: casino-style machines included as an in-game mechanic.
- Shotgun Time: a named gameplay feature included in the demo’s content list.
- A single-player tutorial: an onboarding mode for learning the rules and controls without assembling a group.
Those items indicate that the demo lets you sample both the setup and the action portions of a match. The tutorial is particularly useful if you do not already have a group, because it provides a solo introduction rather than requiring you to learn the systems in a live multiplayer session.
How the demo compares with planned Early Access
The developer says Early Access will contain the full core gameplay loop. That wording means the paid build is intended to be a complete playable foundation, while development continues on additional content and refinement. It does not promise that every feature planned for version 1.0 will be present on day one.
| Aspect | Demo | Planned Early Access |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Announced as out on 7 October 2026 | Planned for 4 November 2026; Steam currently lists the full game as not yet available |
| Cost information | Free demo | Paid product planned; exact amount has not been published |
| Gameplay | Card game, hunt, weapons, pickups, slot machines, Shotgun Time and a single-player tutorial | Developer says the core gameplay loop will be included |
| Development state | Trial build for sampling the concept and systems | Ongoing development with additional content and polish planned |
| Players | Uses the game’s solo tutorial and multiplayer systems where supported by the demo | Steam describes online multiplayer for up to six players |
The table separates confirmed demo content from the broader Early Access promise. It would be misleading to assume that every future weapon, level or cosmetic is already in the demo.

Steam’s Early Access information describes the price only in relative terms. Psychotronic says it plans to offer Death Dealer at a lower price during Early Access, then raise the price when the game reaches version 1.0. The listing does not state the starting amount or the later amount.

Do not rely on a dollar figure quoted in an old video, forum post or third-party store unless it matches the current official Steam listing. A price can also vary by region and may be changed before launch. At the time covered here, the only confirmed pricing facts are the planned discount during Early Access and the planned increase at version 1.0.
What the Early Access price plan means for buyers
- Buying during Early Access is expected to cost less than buying at version 1.0.
- The lower price is a development-stage offer, not evidence that the game will remain free.
- The exact amount, regional prices and any launch promotion remain unconfirmed in the official listing.
- The price increase is planned for the version 1.0 milestone; the date of that milestone has not been fixed.
What does Early Access include, and how long will it last?
Psychotronic says the Early Access build will include the complete core loop. The developer also lists the kinds of additions and changes that may arrive before version 1.0:
- Additional levels
- More weapons
- Character cosmetics
- Gameplay variations
- Bug fixes
- Balance changes
- General polish
The developer estimates that Death Dealer may remain in Early Access for around 18 months. That is an estimate, and Psychotronic explicitly says the schedule may change as development progresses and the team responds to player feedback. An 18-month estimate should not be converted into a guaranteed version 1.0 date.

What kind of game is Death Dealer?
Steam classifies Death Dealer as a multiplayer horror party game for up to six players. Its design combines a card-based opening with a hunt and action-oriented systems such as weapons and pickups. Slot machines and the “Shotgun Time” feature add additional twists to the match structure.
The game is intended for online co-op rather than local couch multiplayer, and a broadband internet connection is listed among the requirements. The single-player tutorial provides a way to learn the controls and rules alone, but the headline experience is the multiplayer format.
Are the cards and slot machines real-money gambling?
The Steam listing says “No real money involved.” That is the developer’s description of the card and slot-machine mechanics: they are in-game systems and do not use real-money wagers according to the official page. The statement does not turn the full game into a free-to-play product, nor does it specify how every reward or progression system will work after launch.

Death Dealer is listed as a Windows PC game. The Steam store page provides both minimum and recommended computer specifications, along with a broadband internet requirement. Before downloading, verify that your system meets the listed operating-system, processor, memory, graphics and storage requirements. Multiplayer also depends on a stable broadband connection. A computer that runs the tutorial may still experience problems in online matches if its network connection is unreliable.
Practical checks before trying the demo
- Open the current Death Dealer page in the Steam client or website and confirm that the demo is still offered for your region.
- Read the minimum and recommended Windows specifications shown on that page.
- Compare those requirements with your PC’s processor, memory, graphics hardware and available storage.
- Confirm that your internet connection meets the broadband requirement for online play.
- Start with the single-player tutorial to learn the card game, hunt and equipment systems before joining a group.
Should you play the demo or wait for Early Access?
Choose the demo if you want a risk-free test
The demo is the sensible starting point if your priority is finding out whether the card-to-hunt structure, horror presentation and weapon systems appeal to you. It also lets you test performance on your Windows PC and see whether your internet connection is suitable for online play. Since the official announcement specifically lists a tutorial, you can learn the basics without immediately coordinating with five other players.
Consider Early Access if you accept an evolving game
Early Access may suit players who want the core loop as soon as it is available and are comfortable with ongoing changes. The developer plans to add levels, weapons, cosmetics and gameplay variations while fixing bugs, adjusting balance and polishing the experience. The lower Early Access price is intended to reflect that development state.
Wait if you require a fixed 1.0 package or a known price
Waiting is the clearer choice if you need a finished feature set, a firm release schedule or a published price before spending money. Neither the final price nor the exact version 1.0 date is established in the official information available on 13 October 2026.
Common misunderstandings about Death Dealer’s status
- “The demo is out” does not mean the full game is out. The developer’s 7 October announcement concerns the demo, while Steam still marks the full game as not yet available.
- “Lower price in Early Access” does not mean free. It describes a planned paid price that is lower than the eventual 1.0 price.
- “Up to six players” does not mean six players are required. The listing describes the maximum online multiplayer group size; the demo also includes a single-player tutorial.
- “No real money involved” refers to in-game mechanics. It explains the card and slot-machine systems, not the price of the game itself.
- “Around 18 months” is not a guaranteed schedule. Psychotronic says the Early Access duration may change.
Death Dealer pricing and availability: current verdict
As of 13 October 2026, Death Dealer is best understood as a game with a free playable demo and a paid full version planned for Early Access. The demo is already announced as available and includes the card game, hunt, weapons, pickups, slot machines, Shotgun Time and a solo tutorial. The complete Windows game is scheduled, but not yet released, for 4 November 2026.
Psychotronic has not published a numeric price. Its stated plan is to charge less during Early Access and raise the price at version 1.0, which the developer currently estimates may arrive after roughly 18 months of Early Access. Check the live Steam listing for the final launch status, regional price and updated system requirements before making a purchase.
